About the Role
To manage the global processes for Design for Sustainability (DFS) and Product Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).
Work Mode
At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a Hybrid work model requiring employees to be in any of our US, Ireland or Costa Rica office at least 3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities
- Expert in Life Cycle Assessment, Design for Sustainability and product circularity regulations, standards, and guidelines
- Develop and maintain with key sustainability stakeholders (globally and divisionally) on DFS strategy and metrics
- Collaborate with Global & EMEA ESG, Divisional Sustainability Product Stewards, Global Packaging Product Steward
- Establish KPIs and methods to monitor process effectiveness
- Advocate internally and externally on product circularity on DFS and LCA
- Ensure incoming requirements are evaluated with decisions documented
- Developing and maintain the process for product life cycle assessments to calculate impacts such as GHG emission, energy use, water use, consumption and scarcity, waste, and other environmental impacts
- Collaborate with Divisional Product Stewardship and Sustainability leads to ensure processes reflect the divisional business requirements and feedback.
- Obtain feedback from all stakeholders, including the LCA Specialist
- Lead Community of Practices (CoPs)
- Product owner for agile system implementation.
- Lead projects related to process creation and optimization based on internal best practices and external industry trends
Required Qualification and Competencies
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering, sustainability, or environmental discipline required
- 5+ years of experience managing sustainability programs for global manufacturing companies
- Deep knowledge of manufacturing sustainability challenges and initiatives
- Experience with developing ISO 14040 and ISO 14044 conformant LCA reports
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Collaborate with senior leadership to drive strategic initiatives and ensure alignment with organizational goals, leveraging strong communication and negotiation skills to influence decision-making processes
- Excellent verbal and written skills in English to demonstrate effective communication with technical teams and senior business managers
- Industry experience: including circularity into product design and executed life cycle assessments
