About the Role

Boston Scientific (BSC) believes that to grow our business, we must grow our people. We are seeking a Global Employee Relations Fellow to lead highly complex and sensitive workplace investigations and provide expert guidance on policy interpretation and complex employee relations matters across the enterprise.

 

In this role, you will conduct root‑cause and trend analyses, provide oversight and mentorship to other investigators, and lead cross‑functional initiatives that strengthen the company’s global Employee Relations (ER) function. You will also contribute to the development of tools, systems, processes, and strategies that drive consistency, effectiveness, and continuous improvement.

 

This is a strategic individual‑contributor role reporting to the Global Director of Employee Relations. You will partner closely with HR leadership and global HR teams to deliver scalable, consistent ER services aligned with business objectives and exceptional employee experience.

 

Key Responsibilities 

Subject Matter Expertise

  • Lead complex, sensitive investigations and ensure consistent, compliant policy interpretation globally.
  • Advise managers/employees on workplace issues, risk mitigation, and policy application.
  • Develop, implement, and govern global ER policies and investigation standards.
  • Coach and support regional ER teams and strengthen investigation capability.

 

Global ER Support

  • Advance adoption and maturity of the global ER support model across regions.
  • Provide ER coaching and training on conflict resolution, performance management, and policy interpretation.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, high‑performing ER culture through regional initiatives.

 

Project Management & Process Improvement

  • Identify and communicate investigation trends and systemic issues.
  • Lead initiatives to improve efficiency, scalability, and effectiveness of the global ER function.
  • Maintain standardized processes, documentation, and a global ER knowledge base.

 

Collaboration & Influence

  • Partner with Legal, HRBPs, Compliance, Security, and People Services on escalated matters.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex cases, guiding root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Reinforce the global ER model—especially in North America—through partnership and technology enablement.
  • Influence leaders, drive change adoption, and support continuous improvement across HR.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 8+ years of progressive human resources experience, including significant focus on employee relations, full‑cycle workplace investigations, performance management, and compliance in highly matrixed and global organizations.
    • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience managing and conducting complex, full‑cycle internal employee investigations in the United States.
  • Experience leading complex employee investigations across multiple countries or regions.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations across different jurisdictions.
  • Sound judgment, strong problem‑solving skills, and the ability to manage ambiguity.
  • Exceptional professionalism, discretion, and a customer‑focused mindset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional language proficiency is a plus.
  • Proven ability to influence at all levels of the organization in a matrixed environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and team‑building skills.
  • Strong analytical and critical‑thinking capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, policies, and guidelines accurately.

Maximum Salary: $239000 

 

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com—will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

 

Compensation for exempt, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
