About the role:
The Global Supplier Engineering Lead (GSEL) is a strategic technical leadership role that plays a critical role in defining partnerships with world-class suppliers to advance innovative medical technologies and make a significant impact on a global scale. As the technical owner for the Connectors and Cable Assemblies category (C&CA), the GSEL collaborates closely with divisional R&D and senior leaders across the organization to define global strategies, influence early product architecture and supplier capability roadmaps, supplier engagement models, and shape long-term technology direction to ensure Boston Scientific remains an industry leader in innovation, while fostering a resilient and scalable supply base for future growth..

Your responsibilities will include:
- Defining and governing global supplier capability and technical roadmaps
- Leading the category’s technical direction and ensuring alignment across divisions and regions
- Monitoring innovations, emerging technologies, and industry trends to guide the long‑term category strategy
- Serving as the primary technical partner for category‑relevant R&D teams
- Influencing divisional technology direction and ensuring supplier capabilities enable future product needs
- Maintaining deep understanding of the full product lifecycle and how supplier performance shapes strategy
- Engaging early in new product development to shape sourcing strategy and supplier selection
- Accelerating development timelines by minimizing rework and enabling optimal design solutions
- Participating as a technical authority in governance forums and critical decision‑making reviews
- Setting technical directions for supplier engineering and advising supplier quality and commercial sourcing
- Guiding the development of tools and frameworks necessary for a high‑performing global category team
- Mentoring junior supplier engineers to elevate technical talent across regions
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 7 years of technical experience supporting complex mechanical or electrical systems
- Experience developing long‑term technical strategies and influencing at senior leadership levels
- Ability travel to up to 20% globally
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in medical devices, regulated manufacturing, or GMP environments
- Ability to lead cross‑functional technical teams without direct authority
- Effective communication skills with ability to influence stakeholders across all organizational levels
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to develop internal and external relationships
- Ability to mentor and provide technical leadership to engineering talent
- Strong strategic thinking with systems‑level problem‑solving capability
