About the role: 

The Human Factors Engineering Intern will support the Active Implantable Systems (AIS) organization, which includes Cardiac Rhythm Management and Urology product portfolios. The intern will work closely with Human Factors engineers and cross-functional partners to support usability engineering activities for medical devices, helping ensure products are safe, effective, and user-centered throughout the development lifecycle.

This role is intended to be flexible and may include a variety of Human Factors–related projects depending on business needs and intern interests.

 

 

Your Responsibilities will include: 

  • Support Human Factors Engineering activities across AIS programs
  • Assist with usability engineering tasks such as user research, task analysis, usability evaluations and assessments
  • Assist with Human Factors documentation and reporting
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Present project updates and outcomes as appropriate

 

 

Required Qualifications:   

  • Working towards PhD degree in Human Factors Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Industrial and Systems Engineering
  • Prior internship experience in Research and Development (R&D) within Cardiac Rhythm Management at Boston Scientific
  • Must be able to start internship on May 18th or 26th, 2026 and work for 12 weeks  
  • Must have reliable transportation to/from work.

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

 

Compensation for exempt, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
