About the role:
We are seeking a highly skilled IT Solution Architect who will play a critical role in our PACE (Pricing and Contracting Evolution) – Contract AI space. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the development of systems and technologies within our AI and Revenue Management landscape, shaping the strategic direction in line with our roadmap.
You will need to be an innovative thinker, technically savvy, and a strategic problem-solver able to mentor across a product team within an emerging capability at BSC. The ideal candidate will have experience applying architecture concepts in an agile environment and can understand business challenges and recommend best practices. You will collaborate across multiple business (divisional/regional) partners, Revenue Management and AI-focused Product Teams, enterprise architecture, and cross-functional teams to meet business needs and deliver value.
This is a hybrid position and can be based out of our Arden Hills, MN or Marlborough, MA, sites.
Your responsibilities include:
- Establish strategic IT solution architecture vision, roadmap, and principles for our PACE/Contract AI platforms; participate and continuously improve architecture governance processes.
- Design and document flexible, scalable, and robust architecture for the commercial enterprise, with a focus on PACE/Contract AI capabilities.
- Define the system landscape, identify gaps between current and desired end-states (capability assessment), and deliver a solution.
- Identify problem areas (process/technical), recommend solutions, challenge traditional assumptions, and influence direction.
- Lead cross-functional teams to ensure data quality, overall end-to-end process, and positive streamlined user experience.
- Serve as the bridge between the functional analysts and technical developers to transform and develop requirements into designs, development approaches, and implementation.
- Support multiple large, complex, cross-functional divisional and global projects.
- Review and approve design solutions that best meet business needs, with a focus on innovation to drive competitive advantage.
- Develop a data strategy and a conceptual data model to meet end-user needs.
- Present architecture options and recommendations, including configuration vs. customization.
- Maintain a high level of awareness and understanding of existing and emerging technologies, as well as industry issues, to effectively match them.
- Manage own work time and priorities under aggressive timelines and budgets.
- Leverage knowledge of the enterprise technology space: languages, frameworks, techniques, and industry trends.
- Align PACE/Contract AI Architecture with Enterprise Architecture direction.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science, or related field required.
- 10+ years of combined IT Analyst, Developer, Tech Lead, or Architect experience.
- Proven ability to stay aware of current trends and technical advancements and share learnings.
- Experience working in large and complex enterprise project environments.
- Experience with Agile delivery practices, preferably in a lead role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven leadership in partnering with external vendors and business partners on projects.
- Strong communication skills with comfort in speaking with business stakeholders and technical leadership
- Mentors team members in technology, architecture, and delivery of applications.
- Ability to articulate and present different points of view on various technologies.
- Ability to challenge ideas/opinions coming from all levels to avoid inefficient solutions
- Ability to operate effectively within an existing custom application
Technical Requirements:
- Experience with complex, cloud-native technical architectures and the alignment to enterprise architecture standards.
- Azure cloud native application, utilizing AI services (e.g.: GPT, Document Intelligence)
- Data-heavy application - Functions run multiple data queries (mainly ComosDB or stored JSON objects), pulling from multiple data sources to run calculations
- Gitlab and Terraform utilized for CI/CD - All infrastructure deployed as Infrastructure-as-Code
- Application is private - awareness of networking (e.g., private endpoints)
- Solving complex data problems
- Backend using Azure Functions and GraphQL
- Python custom automation scripting
- Observability tools (i.e.: App Insights, Log Analytics, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in MIS, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience working in a regulated environment with quality systems, which includes strong documentation skills.
