About the role:

Boston Scientific is searching for an Inbound Materials Manager I to join our growing materials team. This role is based in Arden Hills, MN. The Inbound Materials Manager is responsible for providing team leadership to the dock, receiving, and material handling crib teams.  This role will lead their team to achieve goals around safety, quality, service, and cost. This role supports all material flow from dock to manufacturing line, identifies and analyzes problems, plans tasks and solutions, provides guidance to team on development, performance & productivity issues, and reports to management on team strategy, project status, and accomplishments.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop business unit strategy and ensure projects are resourced to drive improvement in safety, quality, service, and cost.
  • Support daily execution of team and resolve urgent issues escalated through tiered meetings.
  • Implement a staffing plan by identifying resource requirements, writing justifications for additional personnel, obtaining approval for changes, and coordinating the selection process.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects and facilitate idea generation from team.
  • Develop direct reports and extended staff by securing appropriate training and assigning progressively challenging tasks.
  • Monitor daily work operations and provide direction to staff to achieve unit or departmental goals.
  • Own inbound flows for all materials, including hazardous items and precious metals.
  • Build effective relationships with internal customers and process partners, including production, supplier quality engineering, purchasing, distribution, and facilities.
  • Monitor compliance with company policies and procedures and support internal and external regulatory bodies and auditors.
  • Ensure that appropriate resources (personnel, tools, etc.) are maintained to assure Quality System compliance and adherence to the BSC Quality Policy.
  • Establish and promote a work environment that supports the Quality Policy and Quality System.
  • Foster a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives.
  • Direct and control the activities and budget of all functional areas.

 

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain, business, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of supply chain, operations, or related experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of people leadership experience
  • Team-oriented approach with demonstrated track record of strong cross-functional collaboration and influence
  • Proficient in problem solving and process improvement methodologies

Preferred qualifications:

  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience
  • Project Management experience
  • Master’s degree
  • Medical device experience
