About the Role

With the recent announcement of the acquisition of Farapulse Inc., Boston Scientific will strengthen its leadership in Personalized EP Solutions, with a strong focus in Atrial Fibrillation. Farapulse Inc. was founded in 2013 and it is a leading company in PFA therapy development. Boston Scientific has been an investor of the company since 2014. 

Farapulse is the first and currently the only company worldwide to commercialize a PFA technology after receiving CE Mark approval for their FARAPULSE PFA System in Europe in the first quarter of 2021.  The company has already a robust record of pre-clinical and clinical publications showing early evidence of improving safety and efficiency in the ablation of Atrial Fibrillation. Farapulse’s unique technology will complement the existing portfolio of cryoablation, mapping and contact force products enabling Boston Scientific to be the only company to offer physicians comprehensive therapeutic options tailored on individualized patient needs.

This Senior Product Manager is responsible for developing and driving key marketing and business objectives for the Pulsed Field Ablation (PFA) Electrophysiology Product Portfolio, with a focus on upstream marketing and new product planning. This includes involvement in the development of overall portfolio strategy, leadership of concept definition, specification development, and marketing support through the product development process. 
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop marketing and strategy input for future PFA product cadence over next five years.
  • Define and execute market research and prioritize new product development decisions for PFA products.
  • Build business case for future product portfolio and new market opportunities.  
  • Work with R&D to develop market concepts, product specifications, and provide direct marketing support through the product development process.
  • Develop global relationships and build credibility with key internal cross-functional stakeholders. 
  • Interact and meet with customers regularly to discuss benefits of current products and gather voice of customer information.
  • Demonstrate command of key business trends and market conditions through market research, clinical literature, metrics, coordination with customer interfacing teams, and personal interaction with key customers.
  • Collaborate and align with marketing team and cross-functional team members to ensure future development plans will deliver overall revenue and profit objectives.
  • Anticipate competitive activities, monitor competitive pipelines, and strategically respond to competitive initiatives and marketing campaigns
  • Identify potential gaps in the PFA product portfolio and pipeline and assess outside opportunities to address those gaps.

What we’re looking for in you

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Engineering, Science, Healthcare/Biomedical strongly preferred) 
  • Advanced degree (Masters, MBA) strongly preferred 
  • 5+ years of work experience in product marketing 
  • Proven track record of Physician and KOL engagement 
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment and partner with internal/external stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Willing to travel up to 20% 
  • Medical device and Electrophysiology experience preferred
