About the Role:

 

 

The Director, Global Capital Equipment Technical Services position is responsible for development and leadership of a best in class equipment service business organization in support of current and future BSC equipment offerings worldwide.  It has management responsibility for Service Marketing, Technical Support, Customer Service, Field Service, Service Operations, Service Engineering and External Equipment Operations organizations.  This position will be responsible to establish and implement a strategic approach to the management, marketing, control, and direction of equipment service support as a customer-centric business operation. Works collaboratively with divisional, regional, and functional management and drive continuous improvement activities across the organization and globe.

 

 

You’re Responsibilities Include:

 

  • Direct and manage global operations resources.  Structure, staff and manage organization for achievement of department and corporate objectives.
  • Establish strategic direction for service and manufacturing activities.  Align efforts with corporate objectives and act as liaison to advocate and communicate overall strategy across corporate community.
  • Build profitable global Service model by expanding service revenue and effectively managing cost structure.
  • Establish structure, processes, and procedures to assure comprehensive quality system compliance across organization.
  • Partner with divisional leadership to oversee new product development and introduction.  Champion improvements in business processes to increase the effectiveness of their implementation across the organization.
  • Work with international counterparts to establish framework for global service operations and drive best-practice sharing.
  • Drive and influence cross-functional business strategies to sustain rates of improvement in site metrics.
  • Champion the selection and implementation of new technologies and processes into manufacturing and service.
  • Continually evaluate, improve, and implement changes to assure customer-centric departmental focus.  Create balanced performance environment addressing customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction and achievement of productivity and revenue-expense goals.
  • Work with international counterparts to establish framework for global Equipment Service Business.  Assure common approach and best practice sharing of existing service support on a worldwide basis.
  • Establish strategic direction for BSC capital equipment operations and service support.  Align efforts with corporate objectives and act as liaison to advocate and communicate overall strategy across corporate community.  Work with divisional marketing management to develop service marketing offerings and programs to increase customer coverage and associated revenue opportunities.
  • Work with divisional marketing management, R&D management, corporate sourcing, and external equipment suppliers to assure supplier relationships that yield customer valued, high quality and cost-efficient product offerings.
  • Responsible for management of EEO/ESB budget and budgeting process.
  • Interface with external customers, sales, marketing and engineering management, and international counterparts.


 

 

What We’re Looking For:
 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree (engineering or business preferred but not mandatory)
  • 10 years’ + experience within manufacturing/distribution/supply chain
  • Experience with Medical Device Capital Equipment
  • Experience across multiple divisions/plants/locations within BSC
  • Proven track record of developing a strategy that achieves business objectives
  • Proven experience with leading multiple complex projects and delivering results on time and within budget
  • Proven track record with a continuous improvement methodology (e.g., LEAN, Six Sigma)
  • Proven experience in a matrix environment
  • Travel Requirements 25% - 30%, including international
