About the role: 

The primary responsibility of this IT Project Manager role is to manage and support the delivery of IT acquisition integration programs. This individual will partner with our program managers, IT functions, and business functions to ensure efficient and high-quality project leadership and execution. The individual will receive direct exposure to BSC acquired businesses, commercialization strategies, employee integration strategies, and the BSC product development lifecycle.


The IT Project Manager will lead business systems integration projects, directing all phases from inception through completion. By partnering with IT and Business functions within the appropriate BSC business divisions, this individual will gather integration priorities and build plans that will bring increased value, capabilities, and a competitive advantage to our business.


This role will report to a Senior Manager, IT Acquisition Integration


Key Responsibilities:

  • Estimates IT programs/projects to drive business value: Understanding priority of strategic initiatives and projects that support optimized cost of ownership and business outcomes. 
  • Establishes estimates and ensures clear project definition, proposal, and plan.
  • Manages projects: Develops project plans and estimates outlining work plans, timelines, roles, and resources; Identifies and leads cross-functional project team functional experts and business partners; Manages team progress to ensure achievement of all milestones and deliverables while managing risks and issues; Provides updates to management and all stakeholders of progress through frequent communications of findings at regular intervals via reports and meetings.
  • Manages multiple overlapping complex projects in parallel over varying durations. Seek and flag risks as they occur and source any expertise not readily available.
  • Develops recommendations: Develops and delivers project recommendations to management and all stakeholders; Presents changes in IT program/project including technology selection and development, total cost of ownership and ability to drive business outcomes; Develops implementation strategy.
  • Manages implementation of projects: Develops implementation plan outlining work plans, timelines, roles, and resources; Identifies and leads implementation team including local business and IT representatives; Works with functional team members to ensure that all supporting infrastructure including program guidelines, processes, training programs, organizational structure and new roles are developed and communicated.
  • Leads the work of employees assigned to the project from technical and business partners to build a high performing team. Maintain collaboration between analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders. Help maintain a sustainable pace for the team.
  • Develops and manages budgets, schedules, and performance standards- tracking accountability of team to objectives. Establish and track measurable objectives for the team.
  • Consults with internal project groups by sharing project management knowledge.  May mentoring more junior project leaders in project management processes and techniques.
  • Applies tactical skills in (1) Managing day to day goals & activities, focusing on execution. (2) People: Assigning individuals or teams with domain expertise to specific actions. (3) Meeting Specific Objectives (Hitting Milestones & Release Dates) over short & medium duration projects.
  • Participates in external project management organizations, conferences, and seminars to keep current with industry best practices in project management by joining professional associations and implementing a professional development plan with focus on project management.


Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree

  • 7+ years of work experience; 5+ years devoted to IT projects, with proven track record of successful project delivery in a variety of technical areas
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle and methodologies, including Waterfall and Agile
  • Demonstrated project management experience leading cross functional project teams in a highly matrixed business environment
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage large, complex enterprise-level projects
  • Experience delivering and maintaining systems within a medical device or a highly regulated environment
  • Proven team management, decision making and task prioritization skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently with excellent personal time management skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and strong verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Ability to drive consensus within a team and influence outcomes
  • Excellent collaboration and issue resolution skills
  • Proven experience developing and maintaining strong relationship across business and IT functions and with service/solution providers
  • Examples of creative approaches to problem-solving with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the “big picture” view
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deliver in a challenging, fast paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to travel globally to support acquisition integrations up to 15%


Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP® certification
  • Experience with BSC SAP, BSC Core Business Applications or other ERPs
  • Experience with BSC Global Systems Methodology
  • Experience with leading acquisition integration projects
  • Past IT project management experience providing leadership, development and coaching to a high performing team
