About This Role:
This is a unique opportunity for a highly capable experienced engineer and/or supervisor to leverage their broad engineering and business skill sets as they identify, scope, and lead manufacturing initiatives that take the business to the next level in terms of bringing forward next generation manufacturing technologies, transferring new products to manufacturing, driving strategic insourcing, and supporting production excellence.  Supervises, leads, and provides technical direction to a group of technicians and/or engineers. Devotes a significant portion of time contributing to the technical responsibilities of the department.



Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Assists manager in providing guidance and training to staff, developing subordinates to attain career goals, motivating individuals to achieve results, and recruiting and maintaining a high-quality staff.
  • Works with manager to establish department goals, objectives, and budgets.
  • Assists manager to plan resource needs and hiring for department.
  • Prioritizes and manages execution of multiple projects.
  • Successfully completes manufacturing engineering project work on Value Improvement Process (VIP), Strategic Activity Review (STAR) projects, or new product development.
  • Leads technician and/or engineering teams to the successful completion of project goals.
  • Maintains and enhances cross-functional team relationships.
  • Works cross-functionally in identifying and resolving production/engineering issues.
  • Ensures policies and processes are followed.
  • Represents manufacturing engineering in new product development teams
  • Responsible for the driving improved equipment and process performance including yield, uptime, and cycle time improvements
  • Supervises employees across multiple shifts



What We’re Looking For In You:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably mechanical, or Manufacturing engineering
  • Minimum 3-5 years of engineering experience
  • Must have practical understanding of manufacturing problem solving and process improvement tools such as DMAIC and production flow tools such as LEAN manufacturing.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, by analyzing, summarizing, and presenting ideas concisely via visual communication methods i.e. tables, graphs, Visio diagrams, and PowerPoint presentation
  • Must be able to quickly prioritize production issues, develop and execute tactical action plans

Preferred Qualifications

  • Medical device industry experience
  • Project management experience
  • One year minimum of supervisory experience preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership of problem solving in a Production support role 
  • Experience in complex manual assembly operations.
