About This Role:
We are searching for a Materials Supervisor to join our team in Arden Hills, MN. The Materials Supervisor is responsible for managing dock and receiving activities at the site. They supervise the flow of component and finished products/goods while communicating any potential deviations to plan. The supervisor serves as main interface between Production Planning, Purchasing, Global Supply Chain Planners, etc. They ensure goals are achieved by empowering their team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supervise 20+ employees in two key areas in inspection and movement of materials and finished products or goods both onsite and at the offsite warehouse.
- Ensure the component crib and distribution center has materials and finished products or goods ready for replenishment by working closely with others in materials, supply chain, and production
- Partner with business process leads and/or supplier quality engineers to ensure improvements to SAP Receipts are identified for seamless flow to continue in less than 24 hours (e.g. stuck lots with no IP set-up, serialized receipts, etc.).
- Communicate and follow up on issues with component and finished product or goods availability
- Responsible for staffing and development of team members across both dock and receiving functions
- Participate/lead tiered meetings to ensure we are proactively hitting performance targets: Daily pass-down, daily inbound/outbound pass-down, daily Materials Management Department pass-down, weekly team meetings, etc.
- Analyze and continuously improve the training process while assigning the appropriate lead trainer(s) within the team to assist in development
- Coordinate with Supplier Quality Engineers and Buyers to develop improvements to the current state: special crating, packing requirements (e.g. chemicals), reduced package/pallet size, etc.
- Participate in evaluating metrics around Safety, Quality, Service, and Cost monthly and annually for year over year improvements
- May lead or participate on other Materials Management projects to meet the business needs in our Strategic Objectives
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in a supply chain related position or similar business function
- Highly organized with the ability to multi-task while maintaining adequate documentation skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to travel ~10% domestically
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Experience in FDA regulated industry
- Proven history of Lean project support/leadership
- Led/completed projects that drive improvements in Safety, Quality, Service, and Cost
- Experience leading a team
- SAP experience is a plus
