About the role:
The Principal Content Strategist is passionate about understanding the intersection of our consumers’, healthcare customers’, and administrative customers’ needs, and the relevant, useful stories that capture their attention and motivate them to enrich their understanding of our products and services. This individual contributor can roll up their sleeves to drive activation excellence and think strategically, with guidance, about setting the right plans for business and customer results.  This individual must enjoy operating autonomously, be comfortable establishing relationships and collaborating cross-functionally, and possess the ability to develop effective content activations across a wide array of on- and offline channels. 

 

Qualified candidates are fluent in today’s digital marketing ecosystem and how to apply it to content development. Key areas include, but are not limited to Omnichannel Marketing, Marketing Automation, Email, Programmatic Advertising, Organic and Paid Social. This role will report to the Group Manager for Customer Activation on the Electrophysiology business within the Cardiology Group. This senior leader will be a critical linchpin in helping to craft the portfolio story for a high-growth business.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead content strategies for the US commercial launch pipeline across an array of audiences, including physicians, administrators, and lab staff.
  • Create segmented and personalized content marketing plans aligned with the customer journey, relevant audience insights and business goals.
  • Collaborate with agency partners to craft message maps, define brand strategies and create compelling content. 
  • Generate ideas collaboratively with key team members to recommend foundational content assets that serve as the center of an omnichannel system that deliver the right message to the right person at the right time in the right channel.
  • Build and develop messaging strategies across key commercial product portfolios to inform tactical direction/copy for the breadth of channels—digital, sales, and programs—required for key business initiatives.
  • Oversee content through conceptualization (creative briefs) through to production and delivery.
  • Oversee quarterly reporting processes to identify messages that resonate with audiences through in-market activities. Use those data points to inform continuous improvement.
  • Develop proposed budgets for content creation in partnership with the Product Manager and/or Omnichannel Manager and Digital Experience teams that captures core asset and channel content requirements.
  • Partner with members across the business, including product managers, Medical Education, content managers, in-house creative services, channel partners and event marketing as well as cross-functional (legal, regulatory, clinical, etc.) and external agency partners.
  • Understand and operate within Boston Scientific brand guidelines.
  • Ensures materials are compliant with standard operating procedures related to regulatory, clinical, and legal approval.
  • Collaborate and lead creative activation team members to ensure timeliness and accuracy across deliverables.
  • Manages content submission, review, and approval process.

 

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Marketing, or another relevant field
  • 7+ years of content creation experience in an agency, medical device, pharmaceutical or other regulated healthcare environment
  • Keen attention to detail, deadlines and budgets
  • Highly organized with ability to manage multiple stakeholders, programs and shifting priorities.
  • Experience in crafting compelling stories intended to drive engagement by physicians, consumers, or patients.
  • Familiarity with the regulatory landscape and review process
  • Understanding of brand principles and application

Preferred qualifications:

  • Independent, self-starter capable of effectively managing time and projects to meet deliverable dates.
  • Experience working within a global organization.
