About the role: 
Boston Scientific is looking for a highly motivated IT Architect to support a small team establishing a universal software architecture that will work within 11 different manufacturing sites implementing next generation telerobotics. This role will be responsible for the software design, architecture and implementation of the framework which will support widespread implementation of improved manufacturing processes. This role will be a key contributing member in the creation of a strategic vision for the future of process development software.   


This is a hybrid position based in Arden Hills, MN with the expectation to be on-site three days


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and implement software architecture strategies that support business objectives focused on manufacturing medical devices.
  • Create detailed design documentation for infrastructure and application solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to process development teams.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Design and oversee the integration of various systems and applications within the organization.
  • Ensure seamless data flow and system interoperability across multiple global manufacturing sites.

 

Required qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in IT architecture or a related field, with expertise in C# and .NET framework
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing IT infrastructure and application solutions
  • Deep knowledge of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, and cloud technologies
  • Proficiency in various programming languages and frameworks
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing automation principles and technologies, including PLCs, robotics, sensors, and industrial control systems
  • Experience in multi-site/system integration of diverse hardware and software platforms 


Preferred qualifications:

  • Certification in relevant areas such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, or similar
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies
  • Demonstrated technical leadership of small to medium sized teams
