About the role:

As the Principal Content Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency, compliance, and effectiveness of the content production workflow for digital marketing. In this strategic and hands-on role, you'll optimize marketing content workflows, refine standard practices, and enable efficient collaboration across internal teams and external partners.

This role drive content execution excellence, and measurable process improvements that increase content quality, speed, and impact across marketing approval and activation platforms.

 

At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our local office at least three days per week.

Your responsibilities will include:

Operational Strategy & Workflow Management

  • Lead the refinement and implementation of content operation best practices, from project intake and briefing through production, approvals, and performance frameworks that drive operational excellence and executional quality across marketing.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to workflows, tools and documentation.
  • Drive change management efforts to ensure strategic initiatives are adopted, understood, and sustained across marketing teams.
  • Streamline workflows with agencies and internal partners to reduce complexity, shorten timelines, and lower spend.

Content Governance & Metadata Management

  • Drive improvements in content creation and approval processes, partnering with stakeholders to gather input and align on solutions.
  • Apply and advocate for global taxonomy and metadata standards, ensuring assets are properly tagged for reuse, personalization, and discoverability.
  • Maintain process documentation and best practices playbooks to support adoption across teams.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with editors, designers, SEO, analytics, developers, researchers, and business stakeholders to align content outputs with audience and business needs.
  • Facilitate collaboration and transparency across internal functions and external vendors/agencies.
  • Deliver training for internal teams on operational processes.

 

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in content operations, marketing operations, or creative project management, preferably in enterprise or global environments.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and content management platforms (e.g., Workfront, Monday, Aprimo, Basecamp, Adobe Experience Manager).
  • Familiarity with structured content, modular frameworks, or content modeling practices.
  • Understanding of taxonomy principles and implementation.
  • Project management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve workflows and drive process change across diverse stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in medtech, healthcare, or life sciences industry.

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

 

Compensation for exempt, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
