The Principal Strategic Sourcing Specialist is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for capital equipment consoles that support Boston Scientific’s single-use devices. With a focus on achieving cost efficiencies, strengthening supplier relationships, and generating enterprise-level benefits, this role leads strategic sourcing initiatives in advanced manufacturing technologies and plays a key part in shaping high-profile product platforms and driving critical business outcomes.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading complex, high-value negotiations with global suppliers, establishing contracts that balance cost, risk and long-term strategic value
- Developing and executing sourcing strategies for capital equipment technologies, including casting, machining and sheet metal components
- Aligning sourcing strategies with enterprise and senior leadership priorities to drive measurable improvements in cost, quality and supply continuity
- Building and managing executive-level supplier relationships to drive innovation, performance and long-term partnership value
- Evaluating and mitigating supply chain risks across geopolitical, financial and operational dimensions
- Collaborating with supplier quality, supplier engineering and cross-functional business teams to ensure product performance and delivery
- Supporting sourcing strategies for divisions including electrophysiology, interventional cardiology and urology, enabling key product platforms
- Leading supplier selection, evaluation and performance management using defined metrics and governance processes
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement or supplier relationship management within a manufacturing environment
- Minimum 5 years of experience leading supplier negotiations and contract development
- Experience developing and executing supplier strategies for direct materials or capital equipment
- Experience working with global suppliers and managing cross-regional sourcing activities
- Ability to travel up to 15% globally
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree or professional certification (CPSM, CPIM, CSCP, PMP or Lean Six Sigma)
- Minimum 7 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement supplier relationship management within a manufacturing environment
- Experience working in the medical device industry or simialrly regulated industry
- Experience sourcing metal components, including casting, machining or sheet metal
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including engineering, quality and operations
- Strong analytical skills with experience using data to drive sourcing decisions
- Effective communication skills with experience presenting to senior stakeholders
