About the role: 

Boston Scientific Cardiac Diagnostics is searching for a Production Manager to join our operations team. This role will be based in Arden Hills, MN. 

This role will report to a Senior Production Manager in Cardiac Diagnostics, sharing responsibility for the leadership of a team of Production Supervisors and 190+ hourly Production employees.  This Production Manager will work daily with Quality and Engineering teams to manage Safety, Quality, Service and Cost and to deliver strategic initiatives for the business.   

 

Work model & sponsorship:

This role is on-site at our Arden Hills, Minnesota location, requiring employees to work from the office full time. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Monitor hourly and daily Production metrics and coach and direct to Production and Core Team staff to achieve department goals.
  • Develop business unit strategy and sponsor projects to drive improvements in safety, quality, service and cost.
  • Set department budgets for spend such as labor, overhead, freight, and capital expenses.  Monitor team’s performance against plan and take action to deliver cost targets.
  • Coach Supervisors through managing production staffing levels against forecasted demand, ensuring we are staffed and trained to hit our build plans.
  • Manage SIOP process against three-year windows to ensure we are planning sufficient capacity to deliver future volumes.
  • Partner with teams throughout the franchise including Sales, R&D, Marketing, Product Management, and Customer Experience to deliver key business initiatives such as new product launches.
  • Develop direct reports through one-on-one coaching, praising and growing strengths, observing and coaching opportunities for improvement, applying progressive disciplinary action as appropriate and conducting formal performance reviews.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with external and company policies (e.g. compliance with FDA, Boston Scientific attendance policies).
  • Establish and promote a work environment that supports the Quality Policy and Quality System.

 

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 4 years’ of supervisory experience in a production / operations environment
  • Proven people leader skills with experience managing a large, diverse team
  • Ability to lead a team of employees in the achievement of organizational metrics and goals
  • Ability to foster an inclusive workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential
  • Experience in coaching and developing direct reports
  • Experience with monitoring/ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. federal/country and regulatory requirements). 
  • Thorough understanding of, and experience with, Good Manufacturing Practices

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Thorough understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Operational Excellence Principles
  • Project Management experience
  • Master’s degree with a minimum of 2+ years of leadership experience
  • Experience in Medical Device manufacturing
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly at all levels of the organization

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

 

Compensation for exempt, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
