About the role:
Boston Scientific in Arden Hills, MN is seeking a Production Supervisor (2nd shift) to join our team. The Production Supervisor will lead a diverse team of direct labor employees in safely producing high-quality medical devices and equipment that directly impact patients’ lives worldwide.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to grow your leadership skills as you lead, coach, and mentor production and support team personnel while creating a culture of engagement and continuous improvement. Along with ensuring daily execution of line performance, you will manage project leadership and change initiatives while driving safety, quality, service, and cost goals.

This role is based on 2nd shift with core hours Monday–Friday, 2:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. CST.
Work model, sponsorship, relocation:
At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows an onsite work model requiring employees to be in our local office five days per week. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time. Relocation assistance is not available for this position at this time.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Produce high-quality products, safely, on time, and at the lowest cost
- Facilitate and partner with cross-functional team members in production, quality, and manufacturing engineering to achieve annual safety, quality, service, and cost goals while fostering a high-engagement, high-performance culture
- Identify customer requirements and ensure timely delivery of the right products
- Remain responsive and flexible to customer demands
- Achieve and exceed product cost goals
- Support new product development readiness activities for the line team
- Manufacture products to the highest quality standards and ensure compliance with all Boston Scientific policies and regulations
- Promote safety, quality, and compliance among the team while maintaining Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Foster teamwork and drive a culture of Operational Excellence across the cross-functional team
- Ensure effective two-way communication between the production line and cross-functional support teams
- Manage, motivate, develop, and coach product builders through performance management practices
- Embed company values through demonstration and recognition of individual and team behaviors
- Ensure adequate resources, including direct labor staffing, equipment capacity, support team alignment, and space, are available to meet commitments
- Oversee product builder training programs to ensure effectiveness and maintain versatility across the team
- Utilize leader standard work to monitor performance, escalate issues appropriately, and ensure standards are met
- Lead team engagement around continuous improvement goals for safety, quality, service, cost, and space using lean and operational excellence tools
- Benchmark and share best practices
- Partner with materials management for build planning and material delivery systems
- Analyze build plan requirements and provide forward-looking monthly production commitments
- Anticipate requirements and allocate resources to meet and exceed customer needs
- Provide input into long-term production area planning
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a supervisor or management role
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated experience with Lean tools and systems
- Ability to support and lead a production team working 2nd shift
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in a regulated environment
- Medical device industry experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels
- Demonstrated flexibility and agility in dynamic environments
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently
