Program Principal Magellan GSC Planning
About the Role:
Magellan is Boston Scientific’s global business transformation initiative focused on migrating our ERP system from ECC to S4 HANA. This program is designed to simplify, standardize, and modernize core business processes—empowering the company to harness data more effectively and drive profitable, sustainable growth.
As the Program Principal GSC (Global Supply Chain) COE (Center of Excellen) Planning, you will play a key leadership role in ensuring successful delivery across all company functions, divisions, and global regions. Reporting to the GSC Planning Center of Excellence (COE) Sr Technical Manager, you will collaborate closely with GSC Planning organization, GSC Functional Subject matter experts, Magellan transformation teams, product owners, communities of practice, Information Technology functional teams and stakeholders across the network. This role manages the planning and execution of projects with cross-functional teams in partnership with GSC Planning and the Magellan team.
This strategic position spans the full program lifecycle—including project scope and mobilization, requirements, design, build and testing, deployment, post-go-live hyper care, and transition to sustained operations. You will lead governance across multiple deployments, balancing the needs of internal stakeholders and external business partners. Adapting forums and processes to align with the end-to-end GSC Planning function, GSC functional partners and the Magellan will be essential to your success.

At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in the Boston Scientific office assigned at least three days per week. Your Responsibilities Include:
- Share accountability for planning and executing the global Magellan program by developing tools and processes for GSC Planning that ensure predictable, efficient delivery
- Champion continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across GSC Planning, GSC and Magellan adapting project management tools and processes to ensure ease of operations of the shared resources working across programs and manage related collision points
- Create and manage program schedules, including milestone % complete tracking and resource capacity planning across assigned teams
- Facilitate Agile meetings such as stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives
- Create and manage program Jira backlog structure, tasks, sprints and program increments to ensure it’s clean and can be used to measure progress toward key milestones.
- Develop and monitor team metrics, promote accountability, and support a culture of ownership
- Serve as a change leader who promotes the GSC Planning and Magellan project management methodologies, lean design thinking, and program management best practices
- Communicate effectively across project teams. Listen actively and encourage open exchange of ideas and opinions. Manage stakeholder communication through project updates to ensure milestones, actions, risks are well understood and aligned with leadership.
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with key stakeholders, Model and promote collaboration while working effectively across the program team and broader organization to achieve goals.
- Create a project plan spanning Magellan and other program integration/overlap points to ensure conflicts across resources and activities are proactively managed, prioritized and aligned with Magellan and GSC’s goals.
- Drive results by acting with speed and agility while integrating and aligning efforts across multiple sites and functions.
- Take ownership of project execution and lead the team to meet or exceed commitments on product quality, budget, and timeline. Influence cross-functional teams to deliver successful outcomes.
- Address challenges and engage team members to develop effective solutions. Apply strong critical thinking and analysis to identify areas of opportunity or risk and implement proactive responses.
- Manage technical challenges related to manufacturing transfers and new product introductions; identify, communicate, and mitigate risks effectively.
- Develop a deep understanding of the Magellan Program and the Global Supply chain Planning implications across multiple functions, including customer to cash, source to pay, finance, quality, planning, manufacturing, and data and multiple regions/sites across EMEA, LATAM, APAC and US.
- Serve as the primary Magellan contact within GSC Planning, representing the planning functions voice and ensuring the function is well-represented in global planning and execution
- Guide the function through all phases of the project, including scope definition, charters, workplans, roadmaps, technical development, testing, cutover, deployment, execution and sustainment
- Promote accountability for deliverables across process standardization and improvement workstreams
- Lead with a transformation mindset, ensuring a focus on the broader organizational benefit
What We're Looking For:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, Science, or a related field
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in technical, operational, or professional roles within the medical device or healthcare industry
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a PMO or complex program management role
- Proven leadership experience managing large-scale change or transformation programs, ideally in a systems or technology environment in a complex matrixed environment
- Strong working knowledge of ERP systems (preferably SAP) and related application ecosystems
- Strong understanding of Global Supply chain concepts
- Understanding of core business processes across functions
- Vendor management experience, including sourcing and selection, MSA and SOW creation, performance monitoring, and financial oversight
- Ability to identify and manage risks associated with scope, defects, cross-functional alignment, and other factors to ensure on time quality delivery
- Ability to create metrics reflecting progress or blockers during each phase of the project lifecycle
- Strong decision-making skills with the ability to balance global and local priorities
- Demonstrated ability to lead through change and thrive in dynamic environments
