About the Role:

Arden Hills Operations is seeking a Quality Engineer I with a strong interest in manufacturing, quality, and engineering disciplines. This role will provide Process/Quality Engineering support to manufacturing, helping to ensure delivery of highest quality product to the customer.  This role will provide Process/Quality Engineering support to product development teams, helping to ensure development of highest quality new products. This role will support the Electrophysiology division capital equipment business.

 

At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows an onsite work model requiring employees to be in our local office five days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Learns to identify Manufacturing process defects (scrap, nonconforming material, customer complaints) by dispositioning non-conforming material, assisting in identification of primary root causes and understanding corrective and preventative actions. May be responsible for working with process owner to bound product stops and document release criteria.
  • Gains understanding of product quality plans, documents and systems by reviewing product specifications, quality specifications, and working with quality systems.  May be responsible for learning risk analyses and FMEAs.
  • Learns Process Monitoring Systems by becoming familiar with systems applications and critical process steps; and through familiarization with methods used to reduce process variation.
  • Becomes familiar with Product/Process improvement efforts by understanding current quality metric data and learning the various analysis methods used to enhance sustaining product design and new product development
  • Learns Quality Tools & Training Materials by gaining knowledge of prevalent tools used and by reviewing & utilizing available training materials.
  • Responsible for the final Process Monitor Release for products prior to distribution.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree 
  • Minimum of less than one year of related experience

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in medical device or highly regulated manufacturing environments
  • Degree in Engineering preferred
  • Knowledge of basic Quality Systems and good documentation practices
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated curiosity and initiative to identify and drive process improvements
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work both independently and in cross-functional teams
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving projects to completion

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
