About This Role: The Quality Engineer II will provide Quality Engineering support for Arden Hills Manufacturing lines and New Products Introduction ensuring delivery of the highest quality result to the customer while supporting continuous improvement projects and quality initiatives.  The person in this role will partner with manufacturing engineers for line support activities and with product development teams to ensure development of robust new products.  

 

In a fast-paced and dynamic environment, the Quality Engineer II will be responsible for several manufacturing processes on the manufacturing line, working cross-functionally with manufacturing engineering and production teams to achieve business unit goals. The person in this role will be comfortable interfacing with downstream internal customers and providing quality leadership to a production team. 

 

At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows an onsite work model requiring employees to be in our local office five days per week.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Identifies and implements effective process control systems to support the development, qualification, and on-going manufacturing of products to meet or exceed internal and external requirements.
  • Supports culture of continuous improvement by driving enhancements to existing process controls.
  • Proactively investigates, identifies, and implements best-in-class Quality Engineering practices.
  • Promotes quality assurances, process controls, and CAPA systems designed to meet or exceed internal and external requirements.
  • Applies sound, systematic problem-solving methodologies in identifying, prioritizing, communicating, and resolving quality issues.
  • Actively engages with production teams across all shifts to develop solutions to improve outgoing quality.
  • Provides input and implements departmental or cross-functional engineering initiatives.
  • Provides project direction, coaching, and mentoring for technician team personnel.
  • Assures the development and execution of streamlined business systems which effectively identify and resolve quality issues.
  • Participates in team decision making and displays team problem solving/communication skills.

 

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with 2+ years of relevant experience OR Master's Degree in Engineering with 1+ years of relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education (STEM)/work experience
  • Strong data analysis skills (Excel, Minitab, etc.)

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Self-starter with a proven ability to successfully work with minimal supervision
  • Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner with high attention to detail
  • Experience owning process improvement and corrective action projects 
  • Demonstrated project management success
  • Experience in the medical device, biotechnology or other highly regulated industry
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Comfortable speaking to groups of individuals.

Maximum Salary: $ 135800

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

 

Compensation for exempt, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
