About the role:
As an Engineer III for Sustaining R&D, you will be responsible for supporting and driving the advancement of innovative cost reduction projects intended to improve gross margin across the Urology Division. This role involves working within cross-functional and global teams to develop and implement cutting-edge solutions. The successful candidate will excel in a collaborative environment, possess strong technical skills, and demonstrate a proven ability to influence projects.
This position is intended for cost reduction projects needed to warrant Urology profitability to continue fueling our category leadership.
Your responsibilities will include:

Technical evaluation of project VIPs considering all aspects of Design Controls requirements

Execute cost-benefit analysis including risk assessments to provide recommendation to management

Plan, organize, and prioritize daily work routine to meet established schedule

Collaborate with manufacturing sites to ensure alignment and effective project execution

Analysis to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity as related to design, material, or process

Summarize, analyze, and define conclusions from test results

Generate and implement creative solutions to design and manufacturing challenges using new technologies and innovative techniques

Prepare standard reports/documentation to communicate results to technical community

Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and quality systems

Work cooperatively with process development, quality, manufacturing, regulatory, clinical, and marketing to ensure project success
Required qualifications:
-
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a closely related field
-
3+ years of experience in engineering or a similar role
-
Experience with medical device manufacturing and quality systems
-
Familiar with project management concepts and skills
-
Proven ability to lead projects and influence without authority

Strong problem-solving skills and innovative mindset

Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Preferred qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

3+ years of experience in engineering
-
Manufacturing Engineering or Sustaining R&D experience

Familiarity with finance metrics, including COGS and gross margin metrics

Experience with Boston Scientific or similar organizations
