About the role:
Our Sustaining R&D FW/SW team is primarily responsible for supporting our commercialized capital systems across all Urology (Core Stone, Prostate Health and Prosthetic Urology) with a secondary responsibility to provide technical support to the development of new products with the aim of a seamless transfer to Sustaining. As a software engineer on our team, you'll be required to work as part of core teams, working on key initiatives/projects of continuous improvement in the areas of patient safety, quality, service and cost and supporting New Product Development teams in their journey to release new/improved therapies for our patients.
Key responsibilities:

Producing high-quality, maintainable code and technical documentation

Design, implementation, and test of firmware/software/applications for complex, connected medical equipment

Adhering to medical device software development lifecycle processes and best practices

Collaborating with cross-functional experts to solve complex technical and business challenges

Translating highly technical solutions into easily understood recommendations
What we’re looking for in you
-
BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
-
Proficiency with embedded Linux and in programming languages such as C and Python
-
At least 3 years of software development experience in a collaborative environment

Passion for solving problems for end users, with a strong desire to learn and adapt to challenges

Self-motivated, “outside the box” thinker with good time management skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Medical device experience a plus
