About this role:
Contributes with R&D engineers, scientists, and/or teams in the development and analysis of products, materials, processes, or equipment. The Engineering Technician V could also lead project teams and advise the work of lower-level technicians which will require an extensive knowledge and independent thinking.
Your responsibilities will include:
- As a highly skilled technician, contributes to the development of concepts and techniques. Completes complex tasks in creative and effective ways.
- Assesses process capabilities, prioritizes process improvement opportunities, and innovates and implements process improvements on multiple and moderately complex processes.
- Construct prototype products and/or detailed test methods from concepts.
- Consistently works on complex assignments requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues and makes recommendations for new procedures.
- Performs complex or specialized technical assignments usually in the nature of projects requiring working independently. May design, develop, or modify area-specific equipment, materials, systems, and/or product. Assignments require considerable judgment, initiative, creativity and leadership in troubleshooting, suggesting alternatives, and making recommendations for continuous quality improvement methods.
- Organize, coordinate, and execute quoting, testing, manufacture, Maintenace and repairing of models/prototypes/materials with minimal engineering guidance, developing or revising test and more efficient assembly methods as required.
- Coordinate procuring and qualification of new or modified test and/or process equipment.
- Prepares and updates report, documentation, and project plans to communicate results and recommendation to the technical community or document technical aspects of the work in appropriate systems, ensuring accuracy and alignment with current practices and standards
- Use developed networks in assisting project teams in obtaining necessary materials, services, and test data, with internal or external resources.
- Train/Coach/Advise peers on the technical aspects of their job including interpreting and rationalizing results (i.e. statistics, DOE).
Required qualifications:
- 6 years of experience with an Associate degree or an equivalent combination of education/work experience
Prefer qualifications:
- General software and SolidWorks
- Working knowledge of 3D Printing Technologies
- Working knowledge of ServiceNow or similar software
