About the role:
Performs research and engineering laboratory functions involving the layout, building, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and modification of mechanical or electromechanical materials, devices, assemblies, subassemblies, systems and products. The position will support Urology R&D sustaining and new product development teams at both the Minnetonka and Arden Hills sites. Division between the sites will be project support based. 


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Performs a variety of duties in the electrical, mechanical, electro-mechanical, chemical, or optical areas.
  • Performs testing on laser consoles and fibers
  • Builds or assembles prototype materials, components, subassemblies and assemblies.
  • Constructs, operates, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, maintains and tests equipment, systems or products.
  • Works from schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions.
  • Performs tests, analyzes data and writes reports
  • Reviews or develops processing or manufacturing instructions.
  • Maintains detailed documentation through all phases of development, testing and analysis.
  • May assist in the transfer of technology and/or contribute in cross-functional discussions regarding device performance.
  • Communicates status updates to project teams


Required Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree/Diploma or an equivalent combination of education/ work experience
  • 1 year of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Electromechanical knowledge and testing experience
  • Experience with assembly or testing of laser equipment and/or fibers
  • Basic mechanical skills
  • Familiarity with LabView, Solid Works or Instron software
  • Self-starter
