Research Scientist


About the role:

  • This is a unique opportunity to work as a Research and Development Scientist in our Rhythm Management division to develop new products in the cardiac electrophysiology space.  The right candidate will be involved in developing and testing new products that are part of the next innovations in medical devices.


Your responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for the initiation, design, development, execution, and implementation of preclinical research projects
  • Plans and executes preclinical and laboratory research to prove evaluate product designs.
  • Maintains knowledge of state-of-the-art bench and preclinical models
  • Collaborates with product development to design and implement preclinical studies to support design validation and regulatory submission requirements 
  • Presents study requirements and protocols to internal committees such as IACUC
  • Consults and interacts with outside and inside experts
  • Supports regulatory filings for products with documented study results meeting company SOP and GLP standards


What we’re looking for:

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Life Sciences or related discipline with applied research experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in Cardiac Electrophysiology including education or work related experience
  • Experience with design and execution of bench and preclinical investigations


Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of cardiac physiology and anatomy, atrial fibrillation, cardiac ablation and lesion assessment and/or relevant models of cardiac arrhythmias
  • Demonstrated experience in design of experiments and statistical analysis methods
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Industry experience is desirable by not required
