About the role:

 

Boston Scientific is seeking a Senior Architect to lead the support and optimization of SAP Capital Service Management (SM), S4 Service, Plant Maintenance functionality, customer service, and related end-to-end business processes through the Salesforce.com-integrated ServiceMax solution.

 

This role is a critical component of our Magellan business transformation program (S4 HANA), where you will serve as the principal technical owner. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the development, enhancement, documentation, and support of system functionality in SAP, in collaboration with the ServiceMax development team. Additionally, you will analyze, design, document, test, and deliver business and information system process solutions that align with organizational requirements and drive operational excellence.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborate with the Product Owner and key business stakeholders to understand customer business processes and needs, incorporating this understanding into technical and process improvement recommendations.
  • Evaluate business needs and recommend appropriate solutions that adhere to global design standards.
  • Lead Capital Service Management workstream activities related to capturing business needs, developing solution approaches and designs, and implementing solutions within the Service-to-Cash processes, working with internal and external cross-functional teams.
  • Provide technical leadership by applying knowledge of emerging technologies to drive innovation and improvements.
  • Balance multiple priorities while ensuring alignment with internal and external cross-functional teams.
  • Configure SAP S4 Service System as part of the solutioning process and evaluate new capabilities.
  • Adhere to project plans, tasks, and deliverables; identify dependencies and resource requirements.
  • Communicate project status, escalate issues as necessary, and manage deliverables with technical resources to meet timelines.
  • Ensure the quality and completeness of required technical documentation according to IS methodology and processes.
  • Lead and drive resolution of technical issues, including problem diagnosis, recommendations for workarounds, and defect correction.
  • Analyze, design, construct, test, and implement system or application enhancements, recommending alternatives when multiple options are available.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in S4 Service Management and interface with ServiceMax.
  • Apply expertise in API integration, SAP CRM, and Fiori Apps related to S4 Service to enhance system functionality and user experience.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience with SAP modules, including SAP ECC6 and/or S4HANA.
  • Extensive functional and configuration expertise in SAP Service Management (SM), with knowledge of SAP Sales and Distribution (SD) and SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) modules.
  • Proven experience working with notifications, service orders, preventive maintenance, sales processes, contract and warranty processes, and pricing in SAP.
  • Demonstrated experience as a key member of a large enterprise SAP development team, with assignments spanning all phases of the software development lifecycle.
  • Strong understanding of pricing, credit management, customer master data, and other core demand functionalities within SAP.
  • In-depth knowledge of the software development lifecycle and methodologies, including the ability to identify and implement process improvement opportunities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams across the enterprise.
  • Self-starter with a proactive work ethic and strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence others, providing technical leadership and driving successful outcomes in a team environment.
  • Proven ability to design and document technical solutions with a focus on analytical problem-solving and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in managing product direction and implementation, working closely with senior architects and external technology partners.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong experience with S/4HANA Service Management module, including deep technical acumen and the ability to bridge gaps between current and future functionality.
  • Proven experience with integrations to/from ServiceMax, along with functional knowledge of ServiceMax objects and their relationship to SAP systems.
  • Experience with Advanced Variant Configuration in S/4HANA, ensuring accurate and efficient management of complex product configurations.
  • Familiarity with the Medical Device or Life Sciences industries, with the ability to apply industry-specific knowledge to service management processes.
