About the role:
The Senior Commercial Pricing & Contracting Manager is a strategic leadership role responsible for maximizing revenue, profitability, and market competitiveness by developing and overseeing advanced pricing and contracting strategies for Boston Scientific. This role involves leading a team, fostering innovation, and working closely with the marketing, finance and commercial teams in the Peripheral Interventions division to create data-driven pricing models and comprehensive contract solutions that align with Boston Scientific’s strategic objectives. As a senior leader, this individual will drive the optimization of pricing and contracting frameworks, support complex contract negotiations, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead and mentor a team of Business and Contract Analysts, including direct management of at least one people manager (M2), setting team priorities, allocating resources, and overseeing performance and development.
- Oversee the development and execution of pricing strategies and contract structures for current and future product offerings, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market dynamics.
- Partner with Sales Management, Sales Operations, Legal, and Finance to provide data-driven price recommendations, support deal strategy, and ensure policy and process compliance.
- Guide the team in conducting proposal development, contract negotiation, and contract administration in alignment with legal, financial, and corporate policies.
- Analyze and communicate the financial, strategic, and administrative implications of proposed or existing pricing policies and contract structures.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying, implementing, and standardizing best practices and tools across the pricing and contract lifecycle.
- Track and report key performance metrics including contract compliance, pricing performance, revenue impact, and profitability.
- Apply expertise to recommend solutions, anticipate challenges, and develop scalable implementation strategies that deliver value across the business.
- Influence cross-functional stakeholders and senior leadership, building consensus on pricing direction, contract strategies, and resource allocation.
- Develop or refine work processes to enhance operational efficiency, accuracy, and overall team performance.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, Economics, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in pricing, contract management, or a related field, with proven success in developing and executing pricing strategies.
- 3+ years of direct people management experience, providing leadership, development and coaching to a high performing team.
- Proven ability to lead strategic initiatives and influence decisions at multiple levels of leadership.
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills, with experience collaborating with legal teams on contract development.
- Experience working through RFP process
- Understanding of financial modeling, market analysis, and pricing frameworks.
- Proven track record of optimizing pricing models and managing large-scale contract portfolios.
- Proficiency in pricing software, contract management tools, and data analytics platforms.
Preferred qualifications:
- Healthcare and/or medical device industry experience
- Exposure to Model N or other Contracting/Revenue Management systems
- Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to contracts and pricing.
Work Mode:
At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring this employee to work out of our Arden Hills, MN office at least three days per week.
