About the role:

As the Manager II of Program Management – Magellan, you will play a key role in ensuring the successful Business Transformation remediation of the Global Supply Chain planning advanced planning solution, Rapid Response (RR). This is a critical and strategic role, reporting to the Inbound (GSC planning and P2P) Director of Magellan and the GSC COE Planning Director. Collaborating with the Magellan Workstreams, Strategic Integration Vendors, Process Owners, Community of Practices and Stakeholders across the network is a critical success factor for this position.  The Program will last for approximately 4 years across and the role will oversee: Project Scope, Pre Project-Portfolio Surge activity, Requirements, Design, Build and Testing, Deployment to post Go Live sustaining.

 

This role will be key to executing and delivering multiple deployments across regions, sites and functions and ensuring the GSC planning solution and respective stakeholders are proactively informed and involved.
The Magellan program will be led by BSC and leveraging a mix of consulting and third-party experts to deliver on this critical business transformation and core ERP technology advancement.  

 

Seeking a change leader who is motivated to continuously optimize our delivery methodology leveraging agile and lean design thinking practices. Magellan is establishing a BSC scaled agile for ERP methodology and previous experience of the scaled agile methodology, design thinking, and lean start-up principles will be a distinct advantage.
 
Your responsibilities include: 

  • Manage backlog (Jira)
  • Be the primary liaison of project planning information between the GSC Planning COE and the Magellan program management and project teams
  • Resource coordination (between teams)
  • Coordinate gathering/refining requirements (business and technical) and translating into detailed user stories and acceptance criteria (across RR team) with direction from GSC planning COE experts
  • Priorities aligned with Magellan timeline and backlog mgmt. 
  • Coordinate interim release management
  • Triage day to day – status and blocker resolution support. 
  • Daily Defect Triage
  • Take full responsibility and accountability for the successful planning and tracking progress toward execution of the global program
  • Partnering with the Magellan Director of Program Mgmt., Magellan Inbound Director and GSC COE planning Director and the entire transformation leadership team
  • Managing the scope, budget, timeline and deliverables for the program with respect to the RR scope and team
  • Managing multiple vendors and complexity across the program in the areas of technology and business transformation
  • Managing the RFP/SOW process working closely with global sourcing and other internal stakeholders utilizing a ‘best-athlete approach’ where practicable
  • For each vendor and the core RR Remediation team engaged, hold them establish accountability and track execution per the defined:
    • Roles/responsibilities definitions for all team members and cross-team collaboration points
    • Tracking/communication/alignment
    • Deliverable Tracking
    • Metrics/scorecards
  • Establish and maintain ‘ways of working’ across the GSC planning COE, Magellan inbound, Magellan enabling teams and other cross functional Magellan teams to ensure the flow of information, requirements and work is fluid, effective and efficient
  • Program Governance
    • Draft and deliver status updates (Steercos, daily, weekly, monthly, update meetings to stakeholders, Magellan MARET & Other, RR COE)
    • Decision and action item tracking
    • Ensure all actions, items agreed are closed on time, in full and on budget
  • Schedule Creation and Management
  • Risk Management - in coordination w/Change Management and BTL team
    • Collision Point Mapping and Mitigation
    • Predictable Disruption – ensuring that the program forecasts and minimizes any disruption
  • Communications – working closely with the Organization Change Management Team and coordinating across the GSC planning COE and Magellan planning team to synchronize training and communications
  • Program Metrics - in coordination w/SI's and BSC finance
  • Program Budget – Managing a multi-vendor, large scale, global program budget
  • Scaled Agile for ERP execution - in coordination with Program Leadership Team and GSC COE planning leadership to ensure that the ‘ways of working between the GSC planning COE team and Magellan team are effective leveraging principles of agile, design thinking, and lean start-up are central to their program leadership methodology

 
What we’re looking for: 
Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, Science or applicable field required; Advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years technical professional or operational experience in medical device field required.
  • 5+ years of PMO experience.
  • Previous leadership experience across the network or the Management of large change programs, ideally technology or systems environment.
  • Working knowledge global processes and systems.
  • Courage to make decisions for the best interest of global BSC even if it means reasonable compromise for a local team
  • Experience of managing complex, cross-functional programs and demonstrated capability in collaborating and influencing across such a program
  • Proven adaptability, comfortable with change and with a demonstrated ability to react and respond to a fast-changing environment
  • Demonstrated high degree of integrity, professionalism, and the ability to establish credibility
  • High sense of urgency and commitment to execution.
  • Servant leader who creates an empowered and self-driven team culture
  • Creates clear and consistent business outcomes and embeds them throughout the team environment
  • Previous experience of Agile or Scaled Agile methodology, design thinking, and lean rituals will be an advantage but not essential
