About the Role:
Develops packaging plans and strategies, to align with business goals, in the integration of partnerships and acquisitions. Independently, or as a member of a team, develops, directs, and executes plans for a major segment of complex projects. Compiles and analyzes operational, test, and research data to establish technical specifications for designing or modifying packaging, products, processes, and materials.
Your Responsibilities will Include:
- Fully participates in and successfully contributes to project teams typically including the following activities: due diligence, review of test data, identify gaps, establish packaging strategies, test of designs, preparation of specifications, report preparation, and process/test documentation.
- Successfully develop and align the packaging integration workstream with the project's major milestones.
- Review packaging workstreams and milestones with management to ensure alignment.
- Identify packaging integrations risks/gaps and create mitigation plans to reduce or eliminate factors.
- Successfully complete complex engineering work in technology development, packaging/product design and development, test of materials or products, preparation of specifications, process study, research investigation (animal and clinical studies), and/or report preparation.
- Coordinate, manage, and document project goals and progress; design and coordinate appropriate tests and experiments to solve complex problems; summarize, analyze, and assess test results; and make sound design recommendations.
- Generate and manage packaging related documentation, including specifications, test plans and reports, and other PDP documents.
- Assess the feasibility and soundness of alternative engineering processes, products, or equipment.
- Manage the completion of packaging testing for new product development and existing design improvements.
- Work cooperatively with various BSC departments, divisions, and suppliers, leading teams as assigned, to ensure an improved, practical, and consistent approach to packaging.
- As applicable, train and/or supervise technicians and/or interns.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Materials, Electromechanical, Industrial Maintenance, Chemical, or Industrial with 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with individuals at all organizational levels.
- Technical Competencies:
- Ability to work independently to plan, schedule, and execute activities to meet project deadlines.
- Understanding of quality system controls, such as design inputs/outputs, verification/validation, process validation, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in acquisition for Manufacturing and/or Distribution Integration.
- Familiarity with business software systems related to Manufacturing, their interactions, and requirements (e.g., PLM, BMRAM, MES, SAP, GLS, Bartender).
- Demonstrated ability to provide effective mentorship during times of change, particularly in supporting acquired entities through the integration process.
- Exceptional organizational and results-oriented skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize competing tasks.
- Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated high degree of integrity, professionalism, and the ability to establish credibility.
- Intermediate knowledge related to paperboard, corrugated, flexible packaging films, Tyvek, thermoformed trays, injection molded parts, and packaging equipment. Familiarity with ASTM / ISTA package testing requirements.

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs.
