About This Role:

Design, develop, modify and evaluate statistical methodologies and utilize in the determination of study sample size, study power, confidence intervals and other factors to ensure integrity of data analysis and conclusions. The Senior Statistician will play a key part in developing and defining the next phase of analytical capabilities within the Quality Assurance team at Boston Scientific. Additionally, the Senior Statistician will have a leadership role in designing analytical applications to detect quality improvement opportunities and gain efficiencies through continuous improvement projects.



Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Perform statistical analysis and data management for study endpoints by utilizing appropriate statistical methods, software, and systems.
  • Provide thought leadership and project leadership to develop advanced analytic methodologies to detect patterns in mid- and large-scale clinical, product performance, and manufacturing data, including methods from multivariate statistics and machine learning paradigms. This could take the form of supervised and unsupervised models, cluster analysis, etc.
  • Data analysis responsibilities include sample design, data prep, identification of appropriate analytic and statistical methodology, development and documentation of process and results
  • Demonstrate the effectiveness and impact of the analytical tools developed to support efforts in demonstrating the value of our medical technologies.
  • Partner effectively with post market, design assurance, and other cross-functional team members to identify opportunities for innovation by applying data science to research and business challenges.
  • Provide technical expertise and internal support to the site on the use of statistical methods associated with process development, validation and controls.
  • Develop and maintain application-oriented statistical policies, procedures and guidance documents to support quality system requirements.
  • Perform needed statistical analysis by identifying needs, partnering with other groups or departments, and performing calculations.
  • Perform data analysis for publications and abstracts by applying statistical methods and software.
  • May populate data sources for outside regulatory agencies (e.g. FDA submissions-PMA's, progress, and final study reports) through understanding of the data and regulations.
  • May perform sample size and power calculations for study endpoints by applying correct formulas and/or using correct software.



What We’re Looking For In You:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate Degree in Statistics or related Mathematical discipline.
  • Required 3-5 years of work experience applying degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • Medical Device or Pharmaceutical experience preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
  • Self-directed and able to prioritize work in a rapidly changing work environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
