About the role:
As part of Global Sourcing the Supplier Engineer serves as a technical lead for the Injection Molding category team, interfacing with the supply chain and design and process development teams to ensure design functional needs and design for manufacturability needs are both met. The incumbent will work independently to manage projects for onboarding injection molded components, partnering with cross-functional teams to execute deliverables according to business needs.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting acquisitions and integrations, collaborating with R&D, manufacturing and process development teams on design requirements
- Working with supply chain to support the development phase, qualification and production release activities
- Partnering with the category teams to review and sustain approved suppliers; source new suppliers as necessary; incorporate leading market trends to support the category strategy and drive improvements
- Integrating new products and processes into the existing manufacturing area, while ensuring minimal disruption and timely supply chain of compliant and quality components to the customer
- Planning and coordinating all project phases and tasks; in some cases lead engineers and cross-functional teams to qualify and improve supplier processes
- Communicating project plans and progress with project teams and stakeholders to gain support and resources from plant management
- Visiting manufacturing and/or supplier sites to ensure adherence to project schedule and understanding of product design, assembly requirements, and supplier capabilities
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in any engineering discipline
- Minimum 5 years of experience with polymer processing
- Working knowledge of analytical techniques used to investigate component defects
- Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and/or process optimization
- Ability to travel 20% globally
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in (Chemical, Mechanical or Polymer) Engineering or Materials Science
- Experience working in medical device or a similarly regulated industry
- Experience with injection molding manufacturing and managing supplier relationships
- Experience leading cross-functional project teams; ability to influence and drive
- Working knowledge of statistical methodologies
- Ability to navigate ambiguous situations with effective change management and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to communicate effectively on all levels; strong technical writing and reporting skills
- Organized and detail-oriented; ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to develop internal and external relationships
- Effective problem-solving and critical thinking analytical skills; results-driven
