Service Material Specialist

Responsible for the planning, procurement, oversight, documentation, and issue resolution of service materials – service tools, test and measurement equipment, FRUs and service disposables.  The position will ensure service materials are planned, procured, available, delivered, documented in the quality system, and available for use by the global technical service organization for installation and service activities.  This position will analyze global needs for service materials and report out to management / global technical services as needed.   This position will also drive process improvement and issue resolution as needed. 



Your Responsibilities Include:



  • Supports the planning and organization of service materials needed to perform installation and service activities. 
  • Responsible for documentation and records meeting quality system requirements for call specs, calibration records, traceability of service materials, and issue resolution.
  • Analyzes component availability and inventory.
  • Procures service materials as required through established purchasing processes, working with the purchasing and procurement teams.
  • Executes and expedites service material delivery and preparation.
  • Executes shipping of service materials to service engineers globally.
  • Prepares, analyzes and distributes requested financial data on service materials.
  • Works with the calibration team to ensure test and measurement equipment are returned per established calibration requirements globally.
  • Maintains equipment records for calibrated tools in the Global Service Management System.
  • Works with service development engineering to ensure all service materials are available per service planning needs. 
  • Works with training team to procure and track training equipment to ensure complete and working devices available for global courses.
  • Supports the sales operations with related tools and equipment programs.
  • Administrates Field Service Engineer Assigned Inventory program including managing both outgoing consignment orders and incoming RGAs.
  • Works closely with field teams to reconcile inventory levels on a regular basis.  Investigation (as needed) through communication with stakeholders and reporting out metrics at designated intervals.
  • Performs issue resolution through NCEP / CAPA system and drives improvement though VIP system.


What We’re Looking For:



Required Qualifications:

  • College degree and 2 years of experience working in medical device industry, or similar regulated environment. 
  • 2+ years experience working in role supporting Sales &/OR Service Operations
  • Experience with Quality & Business Systems



Preferred Qualifications:


  • Preferred experience includes working in a field service organization, material handling documentation, inventory maintenance, calibration, procurement, global operations or distribution environments.
