Service Materials Specialist
About the Role:
At Boston Scientific, the Service Materials Specialist position is part of a rapidly growing global organization that is responsible for installing Capital Equipment in hospitals and supporting customers by providing Preventive Maintenance, Upgrades and Repairs as required. Key aspects of this role are planning, procurement, documentation, and issue resolution related to service materials such as special tools, test and measurement equipment, field replaceable units and service disposables. The position will ensure service materials are accurately forecasted, planned, procured, delivered, and properly documented within the quality system. Additionally, the role is responsible for reporting any challenges or concerns to management and global technical services counterparts as applicable, as well as driving process improvements and issue resolutions to ensure reliable and efficient service operations for the business.
Your Responsibilities Include:
- Support the planning and organization of service materials needed to perform installation and service activities
- Responsible for essential documentation meeting internal quality system requirements for calibration specifications and records traceability of service materials, and issue resolution
- Analyze component availability and inventory
- Procures required service materials through established purchasing processes, collaborating with internal supply chain and sourcing teams
- Execute and expedites service material preparation, shipment and delivery to service engineers globally
- Prepares, investigates and distributes requested financial data on service materials
- Coordinate with the calibration team to ensure test and measurement equipment is returned from multiple regions per established calibration requirements
- Partner with the service development engineering teams and supply chain planners to align service material availability with field demand for new product launches/acquisitions
- Collaborate with the training team to procure and compile tool kits and any demonstration equipment required for field service training courses
- Offers occasional support of the sales operations with related tools and equipment programs
- Support FSEAI (Field Service Engineer Assigned Inventory) replenishment, cycle counting, reconciliation and corrections that are resulting from these activities per internal financial and quality requirements
- Provide issue resolution related to calibration through NCEP / CAPA system and drives improvement through VIP system
What We’re Looking For:
Required Qualifications:
- Higher vocational education or equivalent experience working in a medical device industry, or similarly regulated environment
- 1+ years of experience working in a role supporting sales and/or service operations
- Relevant experience working with quality and/or business systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Fluent in English
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience working in a field service organization, material handling, inventory management, procurement, global operations or distribution environments
- Experience in SAP, Salesforce, BMRAM and/or Ariba
