Software Engineer II, LATITUDE Application Development

About the role:
As a Software Engineer II, you will join our LATITUDE Application Software development team in Arden Hills, MN. You will be joining a team of server developers. Our primary purview is designing web-based (Java) medical device software, called LATITUDE. Our solution supports implantable cardiac pacemakers, defibrillators, cardiac diagnostic devices, and other active implantable devices. Our system gathers information from the implanted device, supports mobile devices and facilitates the remote monitoring of the patient.
Your responsibilities include:
- Design and develop market leading features for the LATITUDE Remote Patient Management platform.
- Write automated unit and web-based integration tests using technologies such as JUnit, Selenium, Geb and Spock.
- Perform reviews of requirements, design, code, and test artifacts to ensure the delivery of high-quality software.
- Follow medical device software procedures and quality standards.
- Participate in daily stand-up meetings and other agile activities such as retrospectives and reviews.
- Utilize a variety of new and proven technologies to deliver life-changing systems to patients and clinicians in support of BSC’s mission.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering or related field
- 2+ years of experience using Java/J2EE
- Proficient in Java 1.8 or higher
- Proficient in J2EE technologies (JSPs, Servlets, JPA etc.)
- Knowledge of relational database concepts and proficiency in SQL
- 1+ year of experience using front-end technologies – Javascript, CSS, HTML
- Experience using frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate
- Experience writing tests using frameworks such as JUnit, Geb, Spock
- Willingness to work Onsite (4+ days per week) at our Arden Hills, MN site
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with architectural design patterns
- Experience with secure by design approaches
- Experience working in Agile teams
- Experience using build toolsets like Maven and Gradle
- Experience using IDEs such as Eclipse, IntelliJ etc.
- Experience with Git and hosted Git platforms
- Experience working in Medical Device Industry or other regulated industries
- Experience with Kubernetes, containerized web applications, and cloud-based deployments
- Experience writing automated integration tests using frameworks like Selenium or Appium
- Experience in React/Redux

Base Salary Range
Minimum Salary: $ 69500
Maximum Salary: $ 132000
The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com--will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.
Compensation for exempt roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
