About the role:

The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for executing category and sourcing strategies to meet and exceed product quality and achieve service and cost improvement targets for raw resins, silicones, and additives. This role supports a category team of cross-functional partners in supplier quality and supplier engineering to achieve objectives and collaborates with divisional stakeholders to align optimal sourcing strategies for New Product Development, while fostering an environment of continuous improvement that supports Boston Scientific’s Quality Policy, Quality System, and applicable regulations.

 

At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring employees to be in our local office at least three days per week.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Executing category strategies that result in a sustainable competitive advantage; drive year-over-year value improvements related to quality, service, and cost
  • Managing strategic supplier relationships in line with company and category expectations
  • Negotiating and executing contracts that deliver the best outcomes for Boston Scientific
  • Gathering and analyzing market intelligence to report on trends, risks, etc; create market reports for the Plastics, Resins, and Chemicals (PRC) categories
  • Identifying market and sourcing risks; work with stakeholders to define and execute mitigation plans
  • Recommending source selections for new products that align with the category strategy; identify and evaluate new materials and technologies
  • Driving early supplier involvement with R&D to achieve development objectives, timelines, and reduce costs; support site purchasing teams as required
  • Visiting supplier sites to facilitate assessments, negotiations, and business reviews
  • Leading and supporting business process improvement projects

 

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, business or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in sourcing, supply chain management, purchasing, or supplier relationship management 
  • Experience with MS Office Excel and other applications (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, MS Project etc.)
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

 

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience working in medical device or similar regulated industry
  • Experience working in procurement of raw materials or chemicals
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills; ability to multi-task and prioritize competing responsibilities effectively
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams to complete projects
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to communicate effectively with individuals on all levels
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills: process and results-oriented

Maximum Salary: $113800

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

 

Compensation for exempt, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
