Responsible for designing, developing and maintaining data engineering and analytical solutions that are easy to consume. Support our business partners with identifying use cases and gathering business requirements that will enable our teams to improve and scale analytical processes. Own validating that the overall solution design meets and supports the business goals and/or objectives. Interact at a project level and directly with the project business sponsors in establishing strategic relationships and influences business and roadmap decisions.
The Data Analytics Engineer will play a vital role to ensure Boston Scientific’s Post Market reporting needs are met. They will help the business and post market teams connect deeper with our patients and products. By partnering with data analysts and data engineers, they will design solutions that meet business needs and deliver impactful data products and insights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, Develop and maintain custom apps using various business intelligence tools
- Develop and implement complex and efficient data solutions to transform raw data sources into powerful, reliable data assets.
- Building required infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from various data sources and technologies.
- Develop and improve the current data architecture, emphasizing data security, data quality and timeliness, scalability, and extensibility.
- Work with business partners to define and document use cases and gather business requirements (user stories)
- Proactively recommends requirements and/or process improvements, automation opportunities and best practices.
- Responsible for validating that the delivered product meets the strategic business objectives through activities such as demos, UAT, etc.
- Provide support on issues before, during, and after deployment.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in computer science or related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years Data Analytics/Engineering experience based upon job level
- Keen interest in continuous learning for both business knowledge and data technologies.
- Strong SQL skills required. Proficiency creating SQL queries.
- Strong understanding of Analytics product lifecycle CI/CD and Agile Development practices
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience with advanced SQL data retrieval skills, proficiency in report writing, and data visualization using Microsoft Power BI.
- Practical Experience with SAS Programming Language. Base SAS and Macros.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex ideas to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SAS Visual Analytics, Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft Power Apps, Excel, Tableau).
- Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects effectively with competing priorities within a fast-paced environment.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working with Snowflake
- Experience in the medical device industry and familiarity with HIPAA, Covered Entity, and Privacy and Security Requirements.
- Experience with workflow management and Version Control software tools (Git, JIRA, Bitbucket)
- Experience in identifying and communicating the value that features provide to the business and end-users.
- Proficiency with other tools (e.g., SharePoint, Visio, PowerPoint) and methodologies.
- Proficiency in Python, XML, HTML, JavaScript.
