You will lead a large, multidisciplinary team spanning Electrical, Mechanical, and Software Engineering and be responsible for the talent, technical capabilities, and platforms needed to deliver innovative, reliable, and sustainable medical systems.

You will partner closely with business and functional leaders to shape product and technology strategy, deliver new products and capabilities, and improve the performance, cost, reliability, connectivity, cybersecurity, and serviceability of our existing portfolio. This role requires a strategic leader with the technical depth to guide critical decisions, manage technical risk, and build a high-performing engineering organization.

Build a strong leadership bench and high-performing teams through talent development, coaching, succession planning, and organizational capability building.
  • Product & Technology Strategy: Establish and execute a multi-generational product and technology strategy across the systems portfolio. Drive common technologies and architectures that accelerate development, reduce complexity, and enable long-term platform sustainability.
  • Technical Leadership: Apply deep experience with complex electromechanical systems to guide technical approaches, architectural decisions, and engineering tradeoffs. Ensure technical risks are identified and effectively managed throughout development and commercialization.
  • Connected Systems: Shape and execute strategies for device connectivity, cybersecurity, diagnostics, and data capabilities to improve product performance, field service, and long-term platform capabilities.
  • Product Development & Lifecycle Management: Lead engineering across new product development, commercialization, support, and sustainment. Partner cross-functionally to address product performance, quality, reliability, supply continuity, obsolescence, and COGS opportunities.
  • Enterprise Leadership & Execution: Partner across R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Operations, Supply Chain, and business leadership to establish priorities, allocate resources, and deliver portfolio commitments. Drive functional excellence and improvements to development processes and engineering practices across the organization.
  • Business Management: Manage organizational and project budgets and make resource and investment decisions aligned with portfolio and business priorities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or another applicable technical field.
  • 10+ years of progressive engineering and product development experience with complex electromechanical systems incorporating hardware, embedded software/firmware, and system-level integration.
  • Experience across the product lifecycle, including development, commercialization, and post-market support within the medical device industry or another highly regulated industry.
  • 5+ years leading large, multidisciplinary R&D organizations, including experience leading through engineering managers and technical leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership, manage technical risk, and drive execution of complex product development programs.
  • Proven ability to lead and influence effectively across a global, cross-functional, matrixed organization.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required, up to 20%.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or other advanced degree.
  • Significant experience developing and commercializing medical capital equipment or other complex, safety-critical electromechanical systems.
  • Broad experience across technologies, product platforms, and lifecycle stages, with a demonstrated ability to establish multi-generational product, technology, or platform strategies.
  • Experience with connected medical devices, including connectivity, cybersecurity, remote diagnostics, cloud services, and/or data and analytics platforms.
  • Strong record of building high-performing, engaged organizations and developing engineering leaders and technical talent.
  • Significant customer-facing experience and demonstrated ability to translate customer and field insights into product and technology priorities.
  • Proven ability to lead organizational change and build effective relationships across global, cross-functional organizations.
