About the role:
Magellan is a global business transformation program accompanying a move of our ERP system from SAP ECC to S4 HANA. Magellan’s goal is to simplify, standardise and modernise our core business processes, enabling BSC to better leverage the power of data and to position our business for profitable and sustainable growth.


As the Business Transformation Manager, Inbound Procure to Pay (P2P), you will play a key role in ensuring the successful Business Transformation across the BSC Supply Chain network. This is a key role, reporting to the Director Business Transformation, Inbound, collaborating with the Magellan Workstreams, Strategic Integration Vendors, Process Owners, Community of Practices, suppliers and Stakeholders across the network.


The Magellan program will be strongly leveraging a scaled agile for ERP implementation and each of the Business Transformation Managers will be expected to fulfil the role of a ‘Product Owner’ within an agile team environment. Previous experience of the scaled agile methodology would be advantageous but not required.


Your responsibilities include:

  • Leading and developing across a scope of activities related to the interactions between Ariba Supply Chain Collaboration (SCC), Ariba myBuy, Rapid Response (RR) and S4 Hana (solutioning and implementing new capabilities as well as remediation activities). Primary focus/responsibility on Ariba Supply Chain Collaboration and S4 Hana for Direct Purchasing processes.
  • Developing and executing a Project Plan for integration and remediation of P2P process impacts and synergies with myBuy and RR in support of Magellan program, integrating and collaborating with overall Magellan Program Inbound team, IT Solution Architects/ Center of Excellence (COC), the other Magellan Workstreams, RR COE and the myBuy Global Business Services (GBS) Procure to pay team.  
  • Coordinating and liaison with the other Magellan Workstreams, Strategic Integration Vendors, BSC Business Process Leads (BPLs), Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Communities of Practice’s, suppliers and Stakeholders across the network.
  • Aligning Requirements, monitoring project plans, communicating with Stakeholders, co-ordinating the Requirements, Design, Build and Testing Phase and supporting the network-wide Deployment with focus to interactions (process, integrations, remediation, solutions, etc) with Ariba SCC and S4 Hana.  
  • Partner with inbound Magellan team to proactively influence adoption of future state solutions and processes across the technologies (primarily SAP, Ariba SCC and interactions with RR), adoption of Best Practice and working to ensure understanding and translation of strategies, goals and the full scope of a Business Transformation initiative.
  • Proactively influencing global functional, divisional and regional leaders in areas of new concepts, adoption of Best Practice and working to ensure understanding and translation of strategies, goals and the full scope of a Business Transformation initiative.
  • Engaging with Stakeholders to ensure User/Customer expectations are clearly defined and delivered. 
  • Creating an environment that encourages: constructive feedback and coaching; and proactive developmental support for all employees.

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree; Advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years technical professional or operational experience in medical device field required. 
  • 5+ years of functional and process experience in direct materials procurement  
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with direct procurement and supply chain planning processes and respective supporting technology and tools.
  • Previous leadership experience across the network or the Management of large change programs, ideally within an IT or systems environment would be advantageous.
  • Extensive knowledge of Direct purchasing processes, working knowledge of SAP and the broader Application Ecosystem (SAP, Ariba, Isupply, Ecert, VIM, RR).
  • Ability to shape, establish, communicate and engage teams in the vision & strategy of the Magellan Program and how that relates to the P2P strategy.
  • Creates a sense of energy, excitement, and personal commitment to the organization by empowering others, rewarding and celebrating superior performance, and creating an inclusive workplace across many locations
  • Experience of managing complex matrixed organizational structures and demonstrated capability in collaborating and influencing across such an organization with strong emotional intelligence

  • High sense of urgency and commitment to execution.
  • Previous experience of Agile or Scaled Agile methodology, design thinking, and lean rituals will be an advantage but not essential
  • Proven adaptability, comfortable with change and with a demonstrated ability to react and response to a fast-changing environment.
  • Role location is flexible, preferred to be in MN or Ireland, with participation at Team meetings, collaborative project events, with a Marlborough/Minnesota focus and on sites across the supply chain network.
