About This Role:
This is a unique opportunity for a highly capable experienced engineer and/or supervisor to leverage their broad engineering and business skill sets as they help transform and grow Capital Equipment in Arden Hills.   This Supervisor will drive improvements and efficiencies across the technician population and work with the technical team to drive improvements to the manufacturing line.  They will supervise and provide technical direction to a group of technicians and engineers.  Devots a significant portion of time contributing to the technical responsibilities of the department. This role is responsible for the manufacturing engineering team for EP Capital Equipment.
 
Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Drive cross training among the techs
  • Drive visibility to where tech support is needed
  • Work to reduce MRB turn time
  • Manage daily issues and projects on manufacturing line
  • Drive standard/metrics on incoming lines
  • Work with manager to establish department goals, objectives, and budgets.
  • Prioritize and manage execution of multiple projects
  • Successfully complete manufacturing engineering project work on Value Improvement Process (VIP) and Strategic Activity Review (STAR) projects.
  • Maintain and enhance interdepartmental relationships.
  • Ensure quality system policies and processes are followed.

 
What We’re Looking For In You:
Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing engineering
  • Minimum 3-5 years of manufacturing experience
  • Must have practical understanding of manufacturing problem solving and process improvement tools such as DMAIC and production flow tools such as LEAN manufacturing.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, by analyzing, summarizing, and presenting ideas concisely via visual communication methods i.e. tables, graphs, Visio diagrams, and PowerPoint presentation
  • Must be familiar with finance planning 
  • Understand basics of project management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Medical device industry experience
  • Project management experience
  • Hands-on technical/mechanical experience and aptitude
  • One year minimum of supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience in EME/Capital Equipment
  • Demonstrated leadership of problem solving in a manufacturing support role
