About This Role:
This is a unique opportunity for a highly capable experienced engineer and/or supervisor to leverage their broad engineering and business skill sets as they identify, scope, and lead maintenance and quality initiatives that take the business to the next level. This Supervisor will develop strategic maintenance practices, projects, and policies, ensure quality of equipment controls documentation, and drive reductions in equipment cost of ownership while supporting production goals.  Supervises, leads, and provides technical direction to a group of technicians and spare parts buyers.  This role is responsible for the Equipment Support group, Equipment Dispatch and Documentation Quality team, and will be the site lead for maintenance policy and development.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Represent the Arden Hills site on the Global Maintenance Core Team.
  • Provide guidance to all site Technicians on maintenance best practices and policies.
  • Manage spare parts stores and their employees.
  • Manage Equipment Dispatch and commissioning of equipment into the quality system.
  • Manage Equipment Controls Quality Technicians, ensuring a high level of documentation quality.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff, developing subordinates to attain career goals, motivating individuals to achieve results, and recruiting and maintaining a high-quality staff.
  • Work with manager to establish department goals, objectives, and budgets.
  • Prioritize and manage execution of multiple projects, including mass equipment inter-site transfers
  • Successfully complete manufacturing engineering project work on Value Improvement Process (VIP) and Strategic Activity Review (STAR) projects.
  • Lead technician teams to the successful completion of project goals.
  • Maintain and enhance interdepartmental relationships.
  • Ensure quality system policies and processes are followed.
  • Track spare parts spend and keep inventory at appropriate levels.
  • Responsible for the driving improvements to the maintenance system.

 
What We’re Looking For In You:
Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, or Manufacturing engineering
  • Minimum 3-5 years of engineering experience
  • Must have practical understanding of manufacturing problem solving and process improvement tools such as DMAIC and production flow tools such as LEAN manufacturing.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, by analyzing, summarizing, and presenting ideas concisely via visual communication methods i.e. tables, graphs, Visio diagrams, and PowerPoint presentation
  • Must be familiar with finance planning and inventory management
  • Must have a functional knowledge of preventative maintenance and equipment repair

Preferred Qualifications

  • Medical device industry/quality system experience
  • Project management experience
  • One year minimum of supervisory experience preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership of problem solving in a manufacturing support role
