About The Role:

As part of the External Operations Team, the Supplier Engineer focusses on sustaining currently released sourced finished medical device (SFMD) product, onboarding newly acquired SFMD products, and supporting new product development activities for finished devices suppliers of Boston Scientific.  This role is responsible for designing, developing, validating, and sustain supplier’s manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems to meet BSC manufacturing delivery goals while ensuring product quality, and cost.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing projects for the SFMD product space through continuous improvement activities, cost reduction initiatives, new product onboarding, and new supplier integration
  • Collaborating with SFMD suppliers on existing products and new product development activities including process development, validation, capacity analysis, and capability studies; conduct process risk reviews 
  • Reviewing and managing supplier change requests through the Supplier Change Impact Assessment (SCIA) process; own change notice and approval processes
  • Troubleshooting a drive correction action for manufacturing issues related to the designs, materials or processes of new and existing products
  • Analyzing test results to provide summarized reports and documentation on findings; make recommendations to technical teams and leadership
  • Leading and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure project success; support value improvement projects (VIP) 
  • Supporting qualification activities through design and coordinating engineering tests and experiments including DOE; review and provide feedback on SFMD supplier IQ/OQ/PQ, test method validations (ATMV/VTMV), and PFMEA content
  • Providing onsite training and guidance to SFMD supplier operators and technicians as needed

 

 

Required qualifications:

  • Degree in engineering or related STEM discipline 
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in engineering roles and/or manufacturing environments
  • Experience with medical device quality systems and/or production and process control or equivalent
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills 
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time (Including International).  Travel may occur over weekends

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering
  • Experience with supply chain and/or supplier relationship management
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively with individuals on all levels
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills; ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities effectively

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com—will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

 

Compensation for exempt, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
