About the role:

The Talent Analytics & Insights function at BSC is seeking a customer-centric and progressive leader to fill a Talent Analytics Platform Owner role. This person will be focused on delivering the analytics platforms and solutions that enable talent data-driven insights at scale. These insights enable Boston Scientific leaders to proactively plan their talent needs, evaluate the effectiveness of their workforce attraction, development and engagement initiatives, identify past and future trends and make informed human capital decisions which will drive the ongoing success of the business. This role will be responsible for the platforms and solutions for on-demand Talent Insights from needs assessment, dashboard builds, launch and communications.

 

Partnering with our HRIT, analytics’ team members, and their stakeholders, the person in this role will iterate on, and oversee the Analytics technology strategy, roadmap and solutions that meets stakeholders’ needs, and produces insights to help make better business decisions. Working within an agile process, this person will work with the Scrum master to groom the backlog, prioritizing enhancements and new work. With end-to-end ownership, they will conduct persona-based design sessions at the beginning of the build, as well as deploy the dashboard products to HR business partners. The person in this role is solving complex and diverse problems while guiding the team to be accountable to activities and objectives. This thought leader will drive continuous process improvements and will be a resource that helps develops others on the team. 

 

 Your responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute on a strategic plan for analytics technologies and platforms for HR Analytics at BSC.  Considering business needs, external environment developments and technology advancements, determine the future roadmap and the operational requirements it will take to get there.
  • Translate Analysts’ clients’ needs into data modeling, computations, and dashboard design using agile work methodologies and through partnership with technical experts. Translates business needs into data rules and, in partnership with technical experts and developers, code which produce the insight needed by the business. 
  • With partnership of an Agile Product Team, manage the dashboard products; from opportunity identification, to design, through testing, to deployment and adoption, to change management, hypercare and helpdesk. 
  • Forge inter-functional partnership, including working closely with HRIT and HR Operations groups as we consider technological options, data structures, and platform configurations.
  • Leads change management from a technical perspective; identifies changes in related technologies or data, determines down/upstream impacts, mitigates impact and communicates with stakeholders
  • Hold backlog review sessions with stakeholders for clarity, awareness and alignment 
  • Act as an Owner for the group, with responsibility for prioritization according to customer need, technological and data limitations. Stay abreast of technological advancements; bring into the BSC HR Analytics strategy as warranted. 
  • Provide SME expertise consulting in the design and management of qualitative and quantitative data capture; is a champion of data quality, security, and privacy
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts in HR Analytics at BSC.  Regularly obtain customer feedback and stay abreast of developments within the field.  Work closely with HR technology and operational reporting teams to deliver improved levels of service.
  • Co-develops, with Analyst partnership, and leads centralized communication of dashboard launches and enhancements in conjunction with HR programs and events. 

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with work in an analytics-related field preferred
  • 6+ years of experience of delivering value in Analytics roles, ideally at organizations with progressive approaches to the field which have provided exposure to latest HR Analytics practices
  • 6+ years of experience building and deploying platforms or solutions, including analytics tools such as Tableau
  • Strategic Thinker – Can see what the business needs and anticipate what’s next, matching this vision to technology investments today. 
  • Business Acumen – ability to understand the needs of the business, translating them into investment decisions
  • Communication – Provides rationale and engages customers. Adept at creating the “story” which weaves together data into a compelling message
  • Influence – Able to gain buy-in from HR leaders and partners in support of the strategic direction
  • Collaboration – At ease working across a global matrix organization, effective at developing close working partnerships. Enjoys working closely with a team. 
  • Technology Expert – Deep experience with HCM/HR Analytics systems.  Knowledge of the analytics technology industry. BSC uses Success Factors as its HCM so experience in this software is a distinct advantage.  Experience using AI, machine learning and other emerging technologies in the Analytics space is also an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to network externally and stay abreast of industry trends and technology advancements within the HR Analytics arena.
