About This Role:
With general supervisory direction, you will be responsible for performing support functions for sterilization processing, including troubleshooting equipment and process issues, and performing and documenting machine maintenance procedures.  Additionally, it is expected that you will partner with manufacturing engineers, sterilization scientists, and other technicians in developing methods and procedures to control or modify manufacturing processes.

 

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Observes and complies with all safety rules and regulations.  
  • Performs equipment setup, corrective, preventive, and calibration maintenance as necessary.
  • Maintenance and/or equipment troubleshooting activities may require the use of PPE, including a respirator (must be fit-tested for respirator use).
  • Partner with engineering team to improve equipment and processes in the production area to improve yield and/or reduce cycle time following the established validation procedure.
  • Works with engineers/sterilization scientists in conducting experiments.
  • Identify and troubleshoot process, material, or equipment problems to minimize down time. 
  • Installs and validates equipment and processes in the production area to improve yield, reduce cycle time, and/or increase process capacity following the established validation procedure.
  • Evaluate operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment.  May develop or revise documents and procedures.
  • Evaluates and orders necessary equipment, tools, and fixtures.
  • Train and provide technical support or direction to product builders and other technicians.

 

What We’re Looking For In You:


Basic Qualifications

  • 3 years with an AA degree or an equivilent combination of education/work experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Electrical equipment knowledge and ability to read and troubleshoot with schematics
  • Willingness and ability to work with hazardous materials and wear required PPE to perform work.  
  • Self-motivated to seek out opportunities to improve business performance
  • Great attitude and strong desire to learn new skills
  • Communicates well with peers about issues/problems that arise. 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Manufacturing background with automation experience
  • Previous medical device manufacturing experience
  • Previous experience working with hazardous materials/hazardous waste.  Also, previous hazardous materials response training from an industrial or military setting.  
  • Knowledgeable with PLCs
  • Boiler’s license
