The Legal & Compliance Counsel provides strategic legal and compliance support to the Thailand business, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and corporate policies. This role offers day-to-day legal guidance while fostering a culture of ethics and integrity. Collaborating with the ASEAN and Asia Pacific Legal & Compliance team and external counsel, the position supports business operations and risk management. Key stakeholders include sales and marketing teams, the Thailand leadership team, regional and global legal and compliance colleagues, and third-party partners.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide legal counsel on business operations, commercial initiatives, and strategic growth projects, including reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial agreements.
• Serve as the legal and compliance subject matter expert, ensuring business activities align with applicable laws, regulations, company policies, and industry codes of practice.
• Act as proactive business partner on all legal and compliance topics related to Thailand and spearhead the execution of the compliance program (e.g. act as matter expert for local legal and compliance questions, ensure appropriate compliance governance, facilitate monitoring and auditing business activities.
• Develop and conduct legal and compliance training programs for employees and third parties to enhance awareness and adherence to legal and compliance requirement
• Promote and embed a culture of compliance and ethical business practices across the organization.
• Support special projects and other legal and compliance-related tasks as required.

Functional Expertise

• Legal background with compliance experience in the medical device or healthcare industry in Thailand.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience as a practicing attorney or in a relevant advisory role on healthcare matters is preferred but is not a mandatory requirement. This experience may be gained in-house or at a law firm supporting clients in the life sciences industry.
• Strong contracting skills including experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
• Ability to think strategically, develop creative and compliant solutions and apply strong analytical skills.
• Energetic self-starter that can operate and make decisions autonomously.
• Committed to fostering an inclusive and positive working culture within the company/
• Strong business acumen and pragmatic problem-solving skills in the context of legal, compliance, or regulatory requirements
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical standards

• Proficiency in both English and Thai at a working level is required.
