About the Role
The core objective of this role is to support GEM South Region in achieving the DCM imperatives of Channel Optimization, Channel Expansion and Strategic Partnership.
This role which falls under the Channel Management umbrella is closely linked to the commercial capabilities of our Channel Partners as it aims at elevating the standard in terms of commercial excellence, structure, reporting, and partnership.
The added value of this role is that it acts as a pivot between internal and external partners with view to achieving a centre of excellence through standardization of procedures, programs, and working mechanisms that aim at raising the bar and lifting the relationship to the next level.
The subject candidate will have to have a strong interaction with various divisions and functions within the region and will act as an advocate for Boston Scientific vis a vis the various external stakeholders with view to enhancing the Boston’s Channel Partners capabilities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Align with the GEM South Management teams on setting the channel management strategies for the GEM South Region while ensuing sound collaboration and execution
- Constantly articulate on the below Channel Management imperatives:
o Channel Optimization
o Therapy expansion
o Territory coverage with focus on Sub Sahar Africa region
o Identify strategic partnerships as a pre-requisite for a Go-to market model
o Lead the assigned digitalization initiatives for the region
- Build a partnership approach with GEM South Divisions and functions in order to identify a gap analysis and act upon it on behalf of various divisions and functions
- Own the indirect channel network in terms of strategy, vision, relationship, and deliverables
- Demonstrate a strong business and market knowledge and be able to effectively present and communicate core strategies; conducts customer reviews and lead problem resolution for customers while exhibiting strong inter-personal skills in front of the customer
- Lead the channel management market intelligence role across the assigned GEN South countries which consists of exploring and identifying the right partners with view to enhancing the network of channel partners
- Own the process of channel partner onboarding while adhering The Channel Management CoE protocols set for GEM:
o Market intelligence
o Distributors filtering, screening, and selection
o Distributor due diligence ownership
o Case submission to the GEM council for approval
o Distributor appointment
o Contact issuance
o Distributor onboarding
- Maintain constant interactions with Channel Partners (including on-the-ground visits)
o As part of channel optimization initiative, identify gap analysis and conduct competitive analysis and spot areas of improvement
- Act as a center of excellence for all tasks related but not limited to the below:
o Implementation of digital initiatives across the assigned countries
o Timely distributor related reporting deliverables
o Contract management negotiation and issuance
o GEM lead for the “Channel Management center of Excellence initiatives”
- Develop a first-class relationship with the commecial organization and act as a pivot between internal and external stakeholders with view to enhance Channel Partners capabilities (most of MENA distributors are cross-divisional)
o Play a pivot role between various internal and external stakeholders; namely:
Regional head
Finance
Legal & compliance (Global and local reach)
Quality
Regulatory
Divisions
- Raise the Indirect Channel Partners capabilities by focusing on benchmarking tools to evaluate partners from different angles with view to elevate standard and align with BSC’s expectations
- Organize/attend most regional Quarterly business reviews and report findings and actions to be taken
o Adhere to the GEM process in place for such reviews
o Elevate standards for BSC indirect channels across GEM South region
- As part of the GEM Channel Management CoE, adopt a consistent and timely regional reporting with view to raising awareness and visibility on challenges and opportunities
o Standardization of distributor reports
o Elevate the standard of reporting
o Effective implementation and adoption of GEM Cloud PRM and other digital solutions
- Focus on the “Distributor Effectiveness” nucleus that aims at building the capabilities of BSC’s Indirect Channels in terms of local competencies and promote the program across GEM for further buy-in
- As part of the planned "Distributor Effectiveness" duty , use the support of internal &/or external consultants as to build a high-class curriculum and training module that can be further deployed across GEM Channel Partners as to improve skillset and competencies of our Channel Partners
- Ensure the highest level of ethics and integrity are always in place and that our Channel Partners are always compliant and aligned with BSC policies and procedures
o Strong internal alignment is required at all levels in order to ensure BSC interest is preserved at all times (namely related to legal, compliance, quality, regulatory & finance)
- Collaborate cross functionally on the non-commercial aspects of competitive positioning and raise the bar as a center of excellence for the region
- Organize and lead Distributor related events across the region
What are we looking for in you:
- A degree qualification within a relevant business or scientific subject
- Fluent language skills in English and French is a must
- Required to work internally and externally with various stakeholders with the aim to achieving Boston Scientific’s strategic imperatives
