About the role:
We are looking for a Health Economics Specialist who can translate healthcare value, reimbursement insights and market access messages into clear, compelling conversations for internal teams and external stakeholders. This role is ideal for someone with strong economic modeling, analytical and presentation skills, and the ability to connect technical concepts with customer needs in a practical and business-oriented way.
The position is part of the Government Affairs and Access team and plays a key role in strengthening the value proposition of Boston Scientific technologies with both internal commercial teams and external decision-makers. The role requires balancing strong technical expertise in health economics with the ability to influence stakeholders and communicate complex concepts clearly.
The position will be primarily office-based, with approximately 70% of the time focused on planning, analysis, economic evaluations, tool development, training and cross-functional coordination, and approximately 30% dedicated to field interactions, including customer visits, stakeholder meetings and support for value-based discussions.
This position is based in Mexico City or the State of Mexico, with availability to attend the office at least three days per week.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement health economic evaluations and value demonstration analyses that support access to Boston Scientific technologies.
- Analyze clinical and economic evidence to generate insights for reimbursement and market access strategies.
- Support value selling and health economics initiatives in partnership with Marketing, Sales, Clinical, Medical Affairs and Market Access teams.
- Create presentations, customer-facing materials, economic models and value tools tailored to different stakeholders.
- Translate complex clinical and economic information into clear, actionable and business-oriented messages.
- Present healthcare value propositions to internal teams, physicians, hospital administrators, public sector decision-makers and other stakeholders.
- Train commercial teams on health economics concepts, value messaging, reimbursement environments and customer engagement strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and prioritize customer engagements and strategic initiatives.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate project execution and business objectives.
- Support interactions with public healthcare institutions and contribute to activities related to access and reimbursement processes.
- Maintain a high level of autonomy, accountability and ownership in project execution and follow-up.
- Leverage generative AI and digital tools responsibly to improve productivity, research synthesis and content development while ensuring compliance and accuracy.
Required qualifications: --- MUST ---
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Health Sciences, Medicine, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Actuarial Science or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in health economics, healthcare economic evaluations, market access, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, consulting or related healthcare industries.
- Proven experience developing, analyzing and presenting health economic evaluations and value-based evidence.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including economic modeling and interpretation of clinical and economic data.
- Ability to translate technical analyses and study results into clear, stakeholder-oriented messages.
- Strong presentation, communication and storytelling skills.
- Experience reading, interpreting and utilizing clinical studies, scientific publications and healthcare evidence.
- Knowledge of reimbursement, access and healthcare financing environments within Mexico.
- Exposure to processes involving CSG, IMSS and other public healthcare institutions.
- Ability to engage effectively with both internal stakeholders and external customers.
- Comfortable supporting commercial teams and participating in selected customer-facing activities.
- Demonstrated autonomy, accountability and ability to work effectively without close supervision.
- Working knowledge of generative AI tools and their responsible application in business environments.
- Advanced computer skills, particularly Excel.
- Intermediate-Advanced English proficiency with strong reading and comprehension skills to review clinical studies, economic evaluations and scientific literature.
- Residence in Mexico City or Estado de México with accessibility to the office and availability to work onsite at least three days per week.

✓ Master’s degree, diploma or specialized coursework in Health Economics, Market Access, Public Health, Healthcare Management or related disciplines.
✓ Previous experience within the medical device industry.
✓ Experience working in Government Affairs, Market Access, Commercial Excellence or Health Economics teams.
✓ Experience developing training programs, customer presentations, economic models or value-selling materials.
✓ Experience interacting with hospital administrators, public sector decision-makers, payers, procurement stakeholders or KOLs.
✓ Knowledge of public healthcare purchasing and reimbursement pathways in Mexico.
✓ Experience supporting commercial organizations through value-based discussions and access initiatives.
✓ Career interest in growing within Health Economics, Market Access, Government Affairs or broader healthcare leadership roles.
✓ Ability to effectively navigate both technical and relationship-driven environments while influencing multiple stakeholders.
