About the role

The Principal Demand Planner manages and controls the Mexican Demand Planning and Supply Planning as well as New Product Launch (NPL), including all forecasting activities and supply activities (including imports) required to meet customer needs, business requirements, and service level objectives. Defines, monitors and maintains healthy finished goods inventory levels and highly accurate forecasting figures.

 

Responsibilities

  • Own Forecasting: Lead demand planning across portfolios using statistical models, historical data, and commercial insights.
  • Drive S&OP: Shape scenario planning and influence supply decisions through the Sales & Operations Planning process.
  • Optimize Inventory: Balance service levels and inventory health, minimizing obsolescence and excess stock.
  • Lead NPL Planning: Manage forecasts and inventory for new product launches in collaboration with Marketing, Regulatory, and Finance.
  • Partner Cross-Functionally: Deliver insights and data storytelling to Commercial, Finance, and Regional Planning teams.
  • Leverage Technology: Use SAP, Excel, Rapid Response, and visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) to streamline planning and reporting.
  • Monitor Performance: Track KPIs like forecast accuracy, backorders, and DIOH, recommending corrective actions.
  • Coordinate Stakeholders: Ensure alignment and accountability across Marketing, Sales, Regulatory, Quality, Finance, Distribution, and Customer Service.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams in a dynamic supply chain environment.
  • Planning Expertise: Strong background in demand and supply planning, with experience managing large SKU portfolios sourced from Tier 1 distribution centers.
  • Supply Chain Knowledge: Solid understanding of end-to-end operations, including regulatory and quality compliance, forecasting, ERP systems, and import flows.
  • Tech Proficiency: Advanced skills in SAP and Excel; experience with Tableau and executive reporting tools.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders and drive alignment.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • Mindset: Proactive, service-oriented, curious, and results-driven with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Analytical & Financial Acumen: Skilled in data analysis, inventory reserve management, and financial reporting.
  • People Management: demonstrate ability to lead others.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated success in leading complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Language: Fluent English (C1 level).

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the medical devices sector is highly desired.
  • MBA is highly desired.
  • Rapid Response Kinaxis knowledge is highly desired.
  • Prompt Engineering for AI skills are highly desired.
  • Power BI dashboard creation is highly desired.
