About the role:
Boston Scientific is seeking a senior, hands-on IT Business Partner (IT BP) to serve as the primary liaison between IT and business leadership for Mexico, Costa Rica, and Puerto Rico. This highly visible and strategic role is responsible for driving business value through technology, shaping the digital agenda, and ensuring IT initiatives are fully aligned with business priorities. The IT BP will be a trusted advisor to senior management, actively participate in board-level discussions, and champion the voice of the business within IT. The ideal candidate combines strong business acumen, deep IT knowledge, and the ability to execute and deliver results in a complex, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Partnership: Act as the primary IT advisor to business leaders, participating in board meetings and influencing strategic decisions to ensure technology investments deliver measurable business value.
- Business Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders, understanding their needs, challenges, and opportunities. Translate business requirements into actionable IT initiatives.
- Portfolio & Demand Management: Lead the identification, prioritization, and delivery of IT projects that support business goals. Ensure transparency and alignment of IT investments with business strategy.
- Hands-On Leadership: Be actively involved in project delivery, issue resolution, and change management. Roll up sleeves to support teams, troubleshoot problems, and ensure successful outcomes.
- Change Agent: Drive digital transformation and process improvement initiatives. Advocate for innovation and continuous improvement, leveraging technology to optimize business operations.
- Value Realization: Define and track KPIs to measure the impact of IT solutions. Ensure that IT services and projects deliver tangible business benefits.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate complex IT concepts in business terms to senior leaders and board members. Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and business cases.
- Governance & Compliance: Ensure IT initiatives comply with corporate policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with IT delivery teams, vendors, and cross-functional partners to ensure seamless execution of projects and services.
Qualifications
Must Haves:
- B.S. degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
- 8+ years of experience in system architecture/design/delivery
- Fluent in English and Spanish
- Strong business acumen and understanding of business processes in a multinational environment Ability to analyze, optimize, and implement business processes, ensuring that technology solutions are designed to support and enhance end-to-end business workflows. Prioritize process improvement and operational excellence over a purely technology-first approach
- Experience managing complex portfolios and leading change initiatives
- Track record of driving innovation and continuous improvement
- Strong negotiation/facilitation skills
- Experience with complex RFQs and RFPs; experience as negotiator with vendors for relevant products and services
- Able to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization
- Able to work on a team, in person, and in a collaborative virtual setting
- Hands-on approach with a willingness to get involved in project delivery and problem-solving
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated, self-directed, adaptable
- Strong organizational skills, experience leading large development teams and strategic initiatives
Nice to Haves:
- Master’s degree in business administration or related areas
- Although not required, proven experience in the following areas is preferred: MedTech/Healthcare industry, closed loop sales and marketing, customer relationship management, sales enablement technologies, analytics, defining user journeys, and developing a 360 view of the customer
- Portuguese speaking skills
