About the role
The Calcium Therapy Development Specialist is a clinically driven business ambassador for an innovative and proven therapy designed to treat coronary artery calcium disease. This role is responsible for executing therapy adoption strategies that enable the safe and effective use of atherectomy and complementary technologies in interventional cardiology.
This individual is a trusted clinical partner to physicians and healthcare professionals, with deep technical knowledge and a passion for improving patient outcomes. The Calcium Therapy Development Specialist will lead physician education, case support, and strategic relationship development to drive superior clinical outcomes and contribute to the commercial success of the calcium treatment portfolio.
The position is accountable for increasing the number of patients treated and/or market share of the Atherectomy franchise in Colombia. The role will also be responsible for developing and executing educational programs, procedural training, and post-case follow-up support, while establishing strong relationships with key opinion leaders, hospital management, and professional societies. This position serves as a clinical reference across the FCS and sales teams, fostering collaboration to accelerate adoption and growth of calcium therapy.
Your responsibilities will include
• Participate in medical training, product development programs and maintain high standards of personal and professional conduct
• Develop and maintain comprehensive clinical and technical knowledge of the product. Understand current events Published and relevant literature. Recognize and understand competitive products, industry cardiology and atherectomy portfolio trends and portfolio.
• Maintain communication with leadership and sales of the calcium portfolio by providing market intelligence and potential sales leads
• Plan and implement effective clinical/product presentations to clients.
• Maintains knowledge of industry, competition, healthcare and economic trends and their impact on short- and long-term Calcium business plans, adjusting plans and strategies as necessary to reflect market conditions.
• Identify new business opportunities and accounts by developing and leveraging relationships with academic and research institutions and key opinion leaders
• Works in close cooperation with the clinical specialist, and sales teams to develop and maintain working relationships with the economic buyer on key accounts in their region
• Case assistance and clinical support in the operating room to ensure the correct use of technology
What We Are Looking for in You
Required qualifications:
• Bachelor's in Life sciences, Biomedical Engineering or Business Administration
• Previous experience in commercial and/or clinical medical device or related experience in a hospital environment role with proven record of sales growth (+4 years)
• English Level: Intermediate. Minimum requirement B1/B2
• Availability for local, regional, and international travels
