Title: Strategic Area Manager (SAM) – Surgical and Airway Endoscopy

 

**This is a Field Based Position, candidate's georgraphical location is flexible.

 

Role:  BSC SAM will be responsible for driving sales revenue in strategically chosen accounts to meet or exceed the SAM’s specific Sales Plan. 

 

The SAM call point will be a Surgeon (i.e., General, Colorectal, Minimally Invasive, Bariatric, Hepatobiliary, or Thoracic) associated with an academic training program such as Surgical Residency or Surgical Fellowship.  They will be responsible for developing and maintaining constructive, strategic relationships with key Academic Surgical Training Programs.  The SAM will be a critical part of the Surgical & Airway Endoscopy Team’s success by connecting the needs of an Academic Surgical Training Program with the products and capabilities of Boston Scientific’s Endoscopy Division.

 

 Also, the SAM will focus on the Surgical & Airway Endoscopy’s divisional strategies and priorities, define and develop new business opportunities and contribute to overall team success.  The SAM must be able to take actions that are consistent with the stated organizational goals.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Create brand awareness within the surgical academic community around BSC’s strong products and services.
  • Enable an avenue of change for surgical programs providing guidance and pathways to proficiency with flexible endoscopy.
  • Connect “like-minded” programs and personnel to enable synergies and quick technology adoption.
  • Introduce new products and techniques to Surgical Fellowship and Residency Programs.
  • Develop and execute upon monthly and quarterly strategic plans designed to achieve revenue targets.
  • Define and develop new business opportunities that reflect the company's vision and priorities.
  • Build and maintain sustainable strategic business relationships in key accounts by training, educating and selling cutting-edge technologies.
  • Drive sales revenue to exceed division priorities through collaboration with SAE Sales Team.
  • Stay current on BSC products / programs / competitive knowledge.
  • Must uphold all of the quality policies outlined within sales structure consistently and completely.
  • All actions will demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality.
  • Understand and comply with all regulations governing our work and comply 100% of the time with all BSC corporate policy and procedure initiatives.

 

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of relevant business experience, at least two years direct Flexible Endoscopy sales experience required.
  • Gastroenterology and Pulmonary Endoscopy experience preferred.
  • Clinical excellence in respective disease states.
  • Documented sales success.
  • Familiarity with a defined sales process.
  • Understanding of enterprise software solutions such as Salesforce.com and Tableau.
  • Demonstrated top 10% performance in critical competencies.
  • Successful expansion of surgical call points in respective territory preferred.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
